Running, countless running. The moon guiding the small girls way as she ran for her life, the moons beautiful beams of light casting her shadow, everything's shadow. Heavy pants left the small girls body, her brown curls falling off her shoulders as a heavy gust of wind blew her way. Out of breath, she stopped. Her hands gripping onto the bottom of her white sun dress, her once white jacket now grey with dirt. Running behind a large tree she slumped against it,in an attempt to hide her small form from what ever that was chasing her. " Reagan", a taunting voice cooed to her, the voice trailing back to a tall pale man. His hair raven black and his eyes a piercing red. A dangerous red.
The small girl named Reagan put a hand over her mouth, muffling  her cries, the twelve year old squeezed her beautiful amber eyes shut. " Reagan, this isn't a time to play games",the man spoke, his voice stern and his pale lips were curled up into a smirk.  His smirk faded into a thin line, looking around the tall male swerved between the overgrown trees of the forest. " Reagan!", the male snapped, his lips curling back to revel jagged teeth, so long they grazed his bottom lip.

Reagan jumped at the males temper, her small dirty hands clutching the bottom of her dress, ' I don't want to get eaten.... please...',she pleaded in her head, her brown curls falling in front of her eyes.
"Sir, we have a sighting near the east wing of the city", a deep voice Informed the male. With a tsk the tall dark haired male turned away, " lets go", he spoke and without another word they left.
Reagan could feel her heart hummer like a humming bird, her hand remaining on her mouth as she didn't want to risk getting caught once again. She was no longer princess Reagan.

After time passed Reagan knew they wouldn't come back, so she walked as far as her small skinny legs would take her and it was far.

Looking behind her she could see smoke fill the horizon like a large cloud that covered the once city of vampires below it. Her lips parting as she let out hiccups of her crying. Turning away from the city she once loved and knew she made her way long the river, until her eye caught a log cabin. Without anywhere els to go the small girl made her way to the wooden cabin, only to find a small flicker of light in the window. People, but how would they react? They could be part of the man hunt, or worse they could use the small girl to their advantage.

The small girl gazed up at the large wooden door and slowly but surely she knocked. "Hello?", she call out softly, murmuring in the cabin filled her innocent ears and she knocked again. The murmuring turned into loud whispers, the loud whispers sounding like a fight between two people. " you open the door!" Whispered a young boy, " why me!" A girl whispered back, a growl of annoyance following her words as she realised she would have to  be the one to open the door.

Reagan clutched the bottom of her dress, thinking it would be best to leave before it was to late. But just as she was about to leave the door swung open with a loud creek. " can I help you?" Said a young teen, about the age of sixteen. Her hair perfectly straight, blonde strands falling into front of her face and beautiful green eyes. Reagan looked up at her, swallowing harshly she spoke, " I'm sorry.... I'm lost and I have no where to stay...", Reagan's tear stained face looked up at the woman with plea. The tall girl looked down at her, her frown softening. How could she say no? It would be a sin within itself.

The tall girl hesitated for a second, her eyes searching the small girl. " come inside", the tall girl finally spoke after a few cold seconds of nothing. " your kidding", the older male spoke. He was from Asian descent, his dark brown hair in his dark brown eyes and his skin a tanned olive. " I'm not kidding! Look at her, how can you say no to a small girl? Plus, there's a man hunt out" the taller girl spoke as she stepped aside for Reagan of come in. Reagan froze when she said man hunt, but she caught the females drift- man hunts, they're a dangerous thing. Stepping inside the tall girl shut the door with a soft thud, the cold fading away as the fireplace in the far corner crackled and popped.

Reagan tensed from the Asians boys cold stare, " jake, don't be an ass" the call girl scolded him, making him look away in defeat , like he knew better then to pick a fight with her.
Reagan relaxed, her goosebumps fading away as the tall girl guided her to the warm fire place. " my name is Anna, Anna pond and this is jake", Anna spoke, introducing her and her friend. They weren't related- they looked nothing alike. Reagan sat down on the wooden floor, her amber eyes looking up at the two before turning her gaze to the fire. " Reagan Hampshire...." she muttered, making jake tense. " your kidding...", jake muttered in disbelief, Reagan shaking her head in response, confirming her words. Anna put forceful hand on jakes shoulder as he threatened to get up, " it's nice to meet you Reagan", Anna smiled as she sat down beside her.

Reagan turned her head make to Anna with surprise- she wasn't going to kick her out! Well, that was surprising.
Reagan smiled, her amber eyes gleaming with delight, " thank you Anna", she smiled, her words kind and sweet. Jake swore under his breath before getting up, his fangs grazing his bottom lip, " don't thank her, she's only doing it so she can feed on you later-" Reagan cut him off, " that's fine". Jake looked at her confused before walking away to the other side of the cabin, swearing under his breath he laid down in his bed which was just a pile of wooly blankets.

Surprised Anna raised an eyebrow, "  your so mature for a kid", a light laugh passed her lips. Reagan turned her gaze back to the fire, her brown curls in knots, leaves scattered in her hair.  The expression on her face gold everything- she's been told that many times before. " your a vampire.... I know what vampires want and what they need" Reagan whispered as she gripped the bottom her dress, " please don't give me to the scary vampires", Reagan pleaded, her eyes going glassy at the thought of death at her young age.

Anna stuttered, unsure on what to do she blurted out, " Reagan please don't cry, oh god", Reagan said, oblivious on how to handle a crying child.  Reagan didn't let her tears fall, " you can stay here, with me and jake. Yes we're vampires but, that doesn't mean we can't be friends", Anna tried to comfort the girl by putting a arm around her. A puzzled expression crossed her face- Reagan has never had a true friend before. " promise?", the small girl asked, her cheeks streaked with dirt. Anna nodded, her beautiful green eyes never leaving Reagan's as  she spoke, " I promise" Anna smiled as she pulled the girl  closer to her chest.
