4. A Friend in Me

"Ms. Lauraine, you have to do something! I know she's your daughter and all but she must be stopped." Sapphire expressed

"Yes I agree, she's causing some major trouble." Gina said

"Ok, what exactly seems to be the problem."

"She's been throwing her weight around and treating us like we're her servants. She called Crystal and I peasants and told us that we should be grateful to be in her presence." Sapphire said

"She's also been very mean to Monica." Gina said as Lauraine looked over at Monica

"Monica, is that true?" Lauraine asked as Monica looked away with tears in her eyes.
"Honey, what's the matter?"

"I couldn't sleep last night. I was up all night because I was afraid she might do something..."

"Like what?"

"I don't know what she did, but she put some sort of weird spell on Desmond and... he just wasn't himself, it scared me so bad." Monica said quietly

"Why didn't any of you come and get me?"

"That would've only angered her, I just wanted to get through the night."

"You see Lauraine, something has to be done about her! Who does she think she is anyway?! We're more your daughters than she is!" Sapphire said

"You're right and I will talk to her about all of this. And the next time if she is terrorizing one of you, please come let me know. Don't be afraid to come talk to me if there's a problem." Lauraine said getting up and stepping into the hallway to call for Tiffany

"I guess that's our cue to leave." Gina said as all of the girls began to stand up

"Not you Monica, I want you to stay." Lauraine said as Monica worriedly sat back down

The rest of the girls left the room and soon Tiffany came in. She looked over at Monica and gave a small smile as Monica looked away. "Tiffany, I need to have a word with you."

"What's the problem?" She asked sitting down

"Have you been bullying Monica?"

"Bullying? Is that what she's calling it?"

"You've been terrorizing her and the rest of the girls, that type of behavior is not tolerated." Lauraine said sternly

"I was only teasing, it was all in good fun. My intentions were not to terrorize anybody."

"Your teasing may be different from others but messing with someone's livelihood is something off limits."

"I just wanted everybody to lighten up a bit. Everyone walks around so uptight and I just wanted everyone to loosen up, and maybe scaring them a bit would help, but it was truly in all good fun."

"Next time, don't take it too far and I think you owe Monica and the other girls an apology."

"Yes ma'am." She stood up from her seat and walked over to Monica with an unreadable face.
"I'm sorry about what I did and I was only joking, I hope one day we can be become friends." She said with her hand stretched out

Monica looked at her hand and was hesitant on shaking it.

She slowly reached over and shook it as Tiffany smiled. "And if I happened to frighten Desmond, tell him that I'm very sorry." Monica quietly nodded her head and let go of Tiffany's hand

"Now go apologize to everyone else."

"Yes ma'am." Tiffany said as she left the private study and went into the kitchen where everyone was sitting at the table eating
