"So what happened this time?" I asked as Lio and I got to my room.
"Oh you know, 'God hates gays, God will punish gays, gays are an abomination, we'll send you to get fixed', the usual," he sighed heavily. I wish I could help him, but, he's a tough guy, if he's here, it means he fought as best as he could, and just couldn't take it anymore. I hugged him as hard as I could without hurting him. All I can do is thank god that they don't beat him. He and I have cried countless nights when his parents had broken him, he's got his own bed here, and he's pretty much family, all we can do is just be here for him and give him the best.
As Lio and I ate dinner in my room, he starting laughing.
"What's so funny, kid?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing, I just realized something," He said snickering.
"What?" I asked in a mildly whiny voice.
"That guy who saved your glasses, looked kinda cute today huh?" He inquired with a waggle of his eyebrows.
"Jacob?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, the cutie has a name?" He smirked flirtatiously.
"Yes he has a name. Didn't you give him my number?" I sounded way too defensive for just meeting him.
"Yeah, I didn't know his name though, that's a bit old for someone our age isn't it?" Lion said with a Cheshire Cat grin.
"Yeah, yeah I get it. He may not be 18 though, he seems...older, you know?" I said thinking about him, just as I said that, my phone dings.
Jacob: Hi, I was just wondering if we're still on for tomorrow morning?
I involuntarily smile, he thought about me?
I hastily reply,
Me: Of course! :) I'll see you then!
"Are you texting him?" Lio asked with a smirk.
"Maybe," I chuckle and grab my plate, with Lio not too far behind, we put our plates in the sink and walk back to my room. I grab my pajamas and change in the bathroom while Lio gets ready for bed too. I lay in bed with my lights off, with the soft glow of my Christmas lights above, finally relaxing I say goodnight to Lio and drift off soundly, with my last thought being of the future, and what it may bring.
