"That was weird" I thought.
I almost felt sparks, maybe it was just an after effect of Alex and What's-her-name. I walked to my first class of the day: dance. I love dancing, it's an easy way to keep in shape while also making myself more flexible. As I walked into the locker room to change, I hear a nasally, fake, and obnoxious laugh.
"Oh look, little miss flat-chested finally showed up", Mandy said. Now Mandy was younger than me by a year, but good lord! She was annoying! She had bigger boobs than I, she had naturally bigger lips than I, her hair was a perfect, straight, platinum blonde, and she was a size zero with a rounder butt than I had. Granted, I didn't give a flying rat's behind, but she always felt the need to flaunt such qualities in a class full of girls, wearing a barely-policy-allowed pair of booty shorts, a camisole that pushed up said boobs, and makeup that would make anyone else feel inadequate. Now myself on the other hand, wear a comfortable yet cute black t-shirt and leggings with my favorite half-sole dance shoes, and my curls restrained in a ponytail.
As I make my way upstairs to the dance room, I'm stopped by Mandy and her two groupies, Rachel, and Alice.
"I heard you were hitting on my boyfriend, harlot" Mandy glared at me.
" 'Harlot' ? Who the hell even says that anymore?" I ask, slightly baffled she even knows what that means.
"I do, So it doesn't matter "who". If I catch you with him again, you'll be sorry, loser" she tried to threaten. I just couldn't take her seriously, who is she to threaten me? Another boy-crazy sophomore? Big deal.
I roll my eyes. "I don't even know your boyfriend, besides, why do you care? He's not your soulmate, so you guys will break up anyways. Chill out before I put you on ice" I say with annoyance as I move from their path and enter the dance room.
The rest of the day was pretty normal after that, I went to Spanish, Biotech, History, math and English. By the end of the day, I had this nagging feeling like I missed something today. Lio and I walked home and he was chattering on about his new crush, what he was like, and how "his eyes sparkled like glitter on the water" (his words not mine). Lio waved goodbye with a huge grin as he stepped inside his home next door to mine, like we had done since kindergarten. As I stepped inside my own door, I saw that my brothers and sisters had already made it home as well. "Guys I'm home!" I hollered out to my parents and siblings. I walked to the kitchen and saw my mom cooking dinner. "Mmm smells amazing mom" I said kissing her on the cheek.
"Thanks boobear, go get your homework done and clean your room, I'll holler when dinner's ready" she said in a way only a mom could, stern enough to not procrastinate, yet nice enough to know she's not mad.
