Jesse's POV:

I snatched my wallet out of nicks big hand.
Instead of just yelling at him, I had to wait and think of an insult that would embarrass him in front of the other men.
"Were you absent that day of prep school when they taught about how stealing was bad? Or maybe your nanny dropped you on your head as a child and caused severe damage to your brain, which causes you to do dumb things." I said loudly whilst getting up and straightening my tie. I left him at the bar looking dumbfounded while the older men invited me to come walk with them.

I kept an eye on Emily's dad as he walked with Caleb's dad there's something definitely off about the two.

Caleb and nick left, but I'm sure they will be at the wedding.

Emily's POV:
My mother swooned over Jesse with the other ladies in the sitting room or whatever you call it that's attached to the bathroom where lady's are just supposed to sit and chat about their lives.I rolled my eyes at the comments like "I bet they will have brilliant children". If they only knew right.
"Emily dear, what are your plans after med school?" My mothers closest friend Celia asked. We always just have called her aunt Celia.
"Well aunt Celia, after med school I would be a doctor and start my doctor fellowship somewhere, I'm thinking of maybe going out of the country...somewhere like Belize or South America I'm not sure."

My aunt Celia looked at my mother with surprise. "Emily, that sounds most lovely but how do you expect to start a family in some third world country!"

"She hasn't thought it though yet, Celia" my mother chimed in.

I shot my mom daggers though the mirror I was standing in front of and finished putting on lipstick.

"She can travel the world if she wants." Said a familiar voice.

"Grandma Sue!" I said turning around.
"Hello sweet girl" she said pulling me in for a hug.
My grandmother is the best person in our family, when my grandpa died she started traveling the world, hell she even sky dives. She'll drink whisky, she curses, she knows us best. Better than my own parents. No one tells her how to act because she's the top dog in the fam, she's like the queen Elizabeth in our family even though she's no longer in charge she still runs the show. She tells it like it is, and she's my favorite person.

"I was told dinner was ready and to get you all shall we?" She said taking my arm walking with me to the dining room.

"How's em?" She said referring to me.
"She's hanging in there" I said laughing referring back to myself in third person.
"So you have a man now?" She asked.
" uh.....yep" I said trying to hide my non existing excitement about Jesse and this whole lie.
"Wow don't hold all the excitement in at once!" She said sarcastically.
"Yeah, you'll meet him here at dinner."
"Oh good, I plan on getting to know him."
I rolled my eyes again.

When we got to the dining room the guys & Jesse all got up and helped us to our chairs.
I coached Jesse on it earlier when we had some down time, or else it would be really obvious she's never been to a dinner like this before and like I said my parents are extremely formal. Picture the movie princess diaries, that's how we're raised to act, even in our homes. I hate it.

Jesse helped me push in my chair before turning around and facing grandma sue who was waiting there. I held my breath praying we would make it though the dinner and she wouldn't break our lie by questioning too much.
"Hello Jesse, I'm grandma Sue." She said going in for a hug, Jesse looked at me for a sec then proceeded to hug her. She grabbed Jesse's ass and squeezed making Jesse jump and look back at me while I tried not to laugh."
"Uh nice to meet you grandma sue" and grandma sue winked at me chucking as she took her place across from us at the table. Jesse sat down next to me, face still a little red from being embarrassed. All eyes were on us, Except for my father who was looking at his phone. Jesse noticed and quickly took my hand in hers and brought it up to her lips and kissed it. Making all of my mothers friends aww and cooo.
"He's So romantic." Cooed my younger cousin Shelby, who's only 16 who was sitting next to my grandma.

We ordered drinks then the table fell silent again. My mother stared at me.
"Emily dear, your being rude introduce your friend." She said swirling her wine in her glass.

"Right, everyone this is Jesse..................."
That got a mumble of hellos from
The table and Jesse nodded back at them saying hello.

"And." Said grandma sue.
"Oh right and we're dating, we go to the same college." I said feeling fearful. I felt myself being compelled to reach next to me in search of Jesse's hand and I felt comforted when she took it. When I scooted closer to her I could smell the whiskey on her breath and I hesitated and I felt her eyes on me as I explained how we met to my parents friends.
It made me uncomfortable, I felt like I was being preyed upon. Like I'm just a weak little bunny or something being stalked by a hungry wolf, it made me have butterflies in my stomach and made me think about how good she made me feel earlier. I'm just confused.

After our food came and went some of us stayed at the table while others got up and talked or left. I stayed to talk to my grandma who I don't get to see very often, while she finished her wine. Jesse stayed with me so we could pull of the best boyfriend girlfriend in love act ever. If she would of left it would of raised suspicions.
It was just us and my grandmother and my cousin left.
"So Jesse" my grandma asked
"Yes?" She said letting go of my hand sitting up straighter.
"I'm guessing this just became official right? Since you all haven't slept together, is she a good girlfriend, not too spoiled is she? Because that would be my fault?" She laughed.

I felt the blood rush to my cheeks.
"Grandma!" I interrupted.
"Shh." She said back.
"How did you know?" Jesse said In her normal serious tone.
"Oh I just know, and I can tell the way you have been looking at her all night, and the way she's been dodging your gaze, that's called desire Emily. You both have it bad, if you all had already been together then she wouldn't be so tense." She said matter o factly.

Me and Jesse both looked at each other, Jesse's eyebrows were raised and so we're mine.

"Oooooohh Emily's gunna get laid tonight" said Shelby. I kicked her from under the table.
Jesse just remained the same, calm she normally is.
Some more small talk went by then my cousin finally left thank god.

Then it was just us and grandma, we walked her out to her cab.
"Well I'm going to go, it was nice meeting you Jesse, I must say your very sexy and quite a handsome catch I'm sure you will make my em quite happy.. I can tell....even if you are a girl."

"What" I said as we both looked at each other.

"How did you know?" Jesse asked.
"It was the but grab, I tried to check out your front goods too but..." she laughed.
"Grandma!!!" I said embarrassed.
"Oh honey I don't care, and I won't tell." She said getting in the cab. She rolled down the window
"I've just never you so captivated by a person anyways love you." She said as the cab drove off.

I turned and looked at Jesse who was just looking back at me with her eyebrow raised. I tried to pull off my best mad face but I couldn't help smile when she smiled.
" I can't believe I got felt up by your grandma tonight." She said chuckling, which made me laugh.

"Let's go to bed it's going to be a long day tomorrow."

We walked back into the house and I saw Steven cleaning then dining room
With some other wait staff. I instinctively took Jesse's hand just incase they saw.

We walked like that all the way to the satires and then up to our separate rooms.

"Goodnight"
