"Hey? Elessia?" Grayson looks worried. He could see my tears. He hugs me tight again and I feel safe. His grip is so good. A human... I thought everyone was dead. The virus... The virus. I leave his arms.

"I'm scared" I say shaking my head.

"Elessia, you're safe. I got you. You got me. We have eachothers backs." He pauses.

"You don't have to worry." I see a tear roll down his cheek too. Now we're both crying.

"I'm scared too." He looks down, trying to hide his puffy face from his tears.

He pulls me in for another hug. Eventually he releases. He cups my face, wiping away my tears.

"C'mon, if we are supposed to survive, we need food right?" He's not crying anymore. There's no trace of any tears on his face. That made me feel comforted.

"Right" I tell him, with some tears still stuck in my throat.

-

We walk out with two huge backpacks filled to the brim with various foods. He looks confident. Almost like he knows where we're going. How could he know?

"Where are we going?" I ask him.

"It's a surprise. Just trust me."

"It's not far from here, is it?"

We stop, and he looks at me with a smirk.

"Jump in", he says pointing at a car.

I was really confused at this point, but at the same time really impressed of his clever ideas.

"A car? Are you joking?"

He doesn't even respond. He just drops his bag in the back seat and jumps into the driver seat. I get into the passenger side and he just starts to drive.

"Honestly, I don't even know where we're going. All I know is that we're going south."

"Where should we live?" I ask "Like, somewhere where we have food, water... and like a lake?"

"Are you describing a farm?" he asks.

"I guess", I say slightly grinning.

"Look, let's just drive south for the rest of the day, and then we take it from there".

I question him. What if we run out of gas? What if we crash? What if our food magically disappeared? What if...? I know that I'm becoming very paranoid, but this whole situation is messing my head up. I'm too tired to go against him. I look up at Grayson and nod.

-

I wake up. My back is killing me. I realise I've been sit-lying in a really wierd position. I wipe my eyes and sit back up. Grayson looks at me.

"Good morning sleepyhead" he smirks.

"How long have I been sleeping for?" I ask with a tired voice.

"Two, almost three hours? You were pretty tired I guess."

"Mmm, yeah. How's gas looking?"

"Half tank left."

"And where exactly are we?" I say looking around, just seeing fields upon fields.

"Uhm, can't really tell you, because I barely know, myself." What a professional, really.

I look to my left, where he was sitting, and I just admire his face. It was perfect. I honestly wouldn't mind living with him for the rest of my life - however long that lasts. I wouldn't mind having kids with him, or just having him as a partne-

I catch myself in my thoughts. "We are friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend! I don't like him like that!" I tell myself under my breath, looking away, out the window.

"Huh?"

Oh my god. He just heard me.

"What, G?"

"You said something?

A/N: I quickly just wrote this in school, so I'm sorry if it's not that good. I'm updating later this week though.
