Chapter two: The unexpected is expected
We all went strait to our rooms. I grabbed my own personalized stele that I got as a I'm-glad-that-you-aren't-dead-and-now-I'm-gonna-kill-you present. It looks similar to a unicorns horn but it's blue and decorated in silver stars as a remembrance of being a Morgenstern but it also has a silver F on the flat part on the top to represent the Fairchilds.
I grabbed 7 shirts, each one is a lounge around type of shirt, a dress from Isabelle, a ton of jeans and my drawing notebook. I took a last look around the whole room. Even though I've been in here for about a week it's still home to me.
I walked out and closed the door. I started to feel the tears leak from my eyes. I'm not afraid to hide it because everyone else is going to look like me.
I see my mom, Luke, probably picking up his share of roommates, Jace, Alec, Isabelle, Mayrese, and, the most unlikely person to be here, Magnus. I'm surprised alec hasn't started a fight with him. I guess there are some things that do change.
"Everyone please gather around!" Said Mayrese.
She had a paper that had two columns an had multiple scribbles underneath them. Everyone was around her and looked very anxious at what she is about to say.
"I have made a list on who is going to stay with Magnus and Luke. The following people please stand with Luke on my left. Clary (not so shocking), Jocelyn (not so shocking as well), and Isabelle (really shocking)."
Everyone that was called grabbed their belongings and moved to the left of Mayrese.
"Now who ever is left will go with Magnus."
Alec's face was pale white. He just stood there as if he was a statue.
"Mom! I can't believe you put me in his group! You know what happened between us right?!" Said Alec.
"Yes as I did that on purpose because you two need to be friends and not like a high school couple that broke up at a dance." Said Mayrese.
"I can't believe you compared us to high schoolers!"
"That's not the point. You need to be mature! You are my oldest child and you need to set an example! Now stop acting like a child and grab your stuff!"
That ended there conversation. Alec picks up his stuff and walked over to Magnus.
Before I walked by a hand grabbed my arm and it spun me around. It was Jace.
"Are you going to kiss me goodbye?"
"I thought you'd never ask." And the I kissed him.
Our kisses always have a little shock to it but this one had more electric shock than ever before. It was probably from the heavenly fire. We at least kissed for a few seconds until my mom broke us apart.
"Come on Clary we have to go now." She said it to me as if a mother tells their child to come to them when they are leaving the park.
"Goodbye Jace." I said as tears stream down my cheeks.
"I have a question to ask you." He said. There was a little nervousness in his voice.
"Okay. Ask away."
He bent down on his knee and took out a box and opened it. There was a ring that had a huge diamond that sparkled brighter than his eyes.
"Will you, Clarissa Adele Fairchild, take my hand into marriage?"
My mouth was open so wide, all of the flies of New York can fly in there. I stand there with all these questions like "How did you get the ring?" "How did you afford it?" "Why right now in front of all of these people?". But all I could say was "Yes."
"No" said my mom
"Why?" I said.
"Because you've never told me that you told Jace your middle name?"
"The only person I told was-"
My eyes were wide. I looked right in his eyes and saw black vortexes. It wasn't Jace, it was my brother Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern.
