Chapter nine: Tears of joy and tears of sad
"Why do you want to become a shadowhunter?" I said.
"Because there is like one of me and many of you guys. I don't wanna be the only one of my race. I want to have a family." Said Sebastian.
"You do have a family. Clary and Jocelyn are your family."
"Yeah. But they don't love me."
I look at him and he has sad eyes, piercing into my soul.
"Ok. I have something that can make you one of us. But it comes with a price."
His eyes widened with joy.
"I'll pay for it! No matter what it takes!"
"Ok. The price is that you will be immortal."
"What! That's cool! What is this stuff anyway?" Sebastian asked.
"I'll show you."
I lifted up my shirt and I showed him the stab wound from when clary stabbed me. The heavenly fore swirled around it, dispersing through out my body.
"Is that-"
"Heavenly fire. Yeah. Cool huh?"
"Way cool! But will you tell anyone?"
"Not a soul."
"Good. See you later Blondie."
"See ya later, pale Blondie."
That sarcastic humor he had was jut like Clary's. Speaking of Clary what is she doing? I got my phone out. I called her and she didn't pick up. On the fourth time I called her I knew something was wrong.
-
I checked Simon to find any personal items. His wallet, gum (blood flavored) and- his phone. I looked through his contacts and found Jaces number.
"Hey Jace."
"Clary?! Where have you been?! I've been worried sick! And why do you have Simons phone?" He said angrily.
"Long story. I'm fine. I just need to do something real quick ok?"
"Ok. Don't run into any trouble. See ya."
"See ya."
After that I dragged Simon to the side I the tracks. If any other vampires come along this way they'll know what to do with him. I climbed up to the top of the platform and walked my way to the Institute.
-
I couldn't find Sebastian anywhere. So I took time into my own hands. I went to my room and I saw it was a huge mess. I picked up the pink shag carpet and shook out all the dirt and crumbs from multiple meals I've had in hear. I picked up socks, underwear, shirts, pants and weapons and put them in drawers. I went around the room for one last look and I found a knife about the size of my hand. I picked it up and put it in my leather pants pocket.
I jumped at the knock at the door. I pushed my long black strand of hair out of my face. I got up and opened the door.
Clary.
"Hey little red what's up?"
She looked up and her eyes were swollen and bloodshot. Her clothes were torn and bloody of demon ichor. And her head was bloody and grimy of dirt.
"Did you run into demons on your way here?" I said.
"Well......sort of." She said.
"We'll tell me the story."
"Can we go inside? It's kinda long."
"Well I just cleaned it up and I don't want.." I said pointing to her clothes "all of that to get in there".
"Ok well, get ready. I was on my way to Takis in the subway to meet..." She paused, the said "Simon and I ran into three demons. One of them dragged me off the car and I hit my head on the rail. " then she pointed to her head. "I didn't know what happened after that until Maureen saved me. I called Simon and tolled him where I was and he flipped out. He came to the subway and got in a fight with Maureen. Then Maureen bit him."
"Is he alright?!" I said worriedly.
"No. He.... He's dead."
My eyes were wide in shock. I felt tears in my eyes but I blinked them away.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I'm gonna go in my room for a while. Ok?"
"Ok." She said.
Once I shut the door, that's when the tears began run down my cheeks.
-
I jumped at the screams from the other side of the door. I walked up to it an began to turn the knob. As I was turning the knob, a knife was sticking out of the door, inches away from my face.
"NO! SIMON!" She yelled.
I heard foot steps from the other side of the hallway. I thought I would never see those golden locks again.
"Hey! What's wrong? And what happened to you?" He said.
"Long story. Also don't go in there."
"Why?"
"Let's go somewhere private and then I'll tell you."
He locked his arm in mine and he led the way. As I was telling him the story, I was thinking of where we were going. I finally knew where we were.
"Why are we going to the greenhouse?" I said.
"Because, you need something happy to bring up your spirits."
He walked my into the center of the greenhouse and we stood there in silence.
"So" I said "What was it you were going I tell me?"
He looked in my green eyes, and I studied his gold. I followed his gaze as he was bending down to the floor, took out a box with a diamond ring in it. I opened my mouth so I can make out a smile.
"Will you, Clary Fray, be my wife?"
I didn't have to think of that answer.
"Yes!" I said.
Then we kissed. I was remembering the first time we kissed and it was in the exact same room. No wonder we came here. We released and then I began to talk.
"I remember the first time you gave me a rock. It was more shinier than this one."
"Well that was a witch light. This is totally different." He said with a smile.
We walked back to Isabelle's room with our hands intertwined like vines tangled together. I see Isabelle's door opened and see Alec comforting her.
"Ready to go?" Asked Jace.
"Yup. Ready." Said Alec.
Then we walked back to Magnus' apartment. I can't wait for this dreadful and happy day to end.
