Charlie's POV:
After like half an hour I finally went into the house. I went upstairs without answering my mum's questions. I walked into my room, slammed the door and just lied down on my bed crying. After just a couple of minutes mum walked into my room shocked. She sat down beside me on the bed and stroked my back.

"What's wrong, hun?" She asked worried. I tried to stop sobbing and without looking up at her I answered.
"I think Chloe cheated on me..." I replied feeling the tears come back. I could feel how mum immediately stopped stroking my back. I felt her eyes burn in my neck while she tried to calm herself down.
"What? Why would you think that?" She asked trying to sound confused, but all I heard was sadness.

"She never talks to me anymore or answering my texts..." I answered slowly.
"And that means that she cheated on you?" Mum asked confused and she seemed to have calmed down.
"No, but she's always hanging out with a guy..."
"Who?"
"Leo."

Leondre's POV:
Me and Chloe was at my place, I can't tell you why, but we hung out. Suddenly my phone started to buzz and I saw that it was Charlie calling. Chloe paused the movie we were watching and I answered the call.

"Hi Charles." I said.
"Hi, what's up?" I heard Charlie's voice ask at the other end of the phone.
"Not much, you?" I replied.

"I'm bored, can I come to yours?" Charlie asked and I slightly started to panic. If Charlie would come here, then he would see that Chloe was here and then he would probably think that we've done something that we haven't. Trust me, I know this man.
I muted my phone and looked up at Chloe. She looked back confused at me.

"What?" She asked.
"He wants to come over." I replied stressed.
"Tell him that he can't." She suggested thinking.

"I must have a reason, I can't just do that to him. He's my best friend." I answered feeling the slight panic spreading inside my body.

Chloe thought a bit and then she looked up at me again.
"Tell him that you're sick." She said.
"But I'm not."
"Pretend."

I took a deep breath before I pressed the 'mute' button again. I pretended to be couching as I started talking.
"Uhm... Sorry. I'm feeling a bit sick, maybe another day..." I said hoping that he wouldn't notice my little act. It took some seconds before I heard Charlie's voice again.
"Oh, okay..." He replied sounding really disappointed. I hated when I had to lie to him, it seriously killed me from the inside. He's my best friend and I love him. I wouldn't even been alive without him. "Well, see you."

"Okay, bye." I said and then hung up the call. I felt the sadness taking over inside. Then I felt Chloe's comforting hand stroking my back.

"He'll get over it, I promise." She told me and then we turned on the movie again. And even though we talked about other stuff and laughed and stuff, I couldn't stop thinking about Charlie. I had seriously never lied to him before.

***

I heard a knock on the front door which made me jump high. I looked confused at Chloe, who could it be? She paused the movie and I walked up to the door. I unlocked it and slowly opened it. I seriously got a shock when I saw who it was. Charlie.

"Oh, what are you doing here? I told you that I couldn't hang out." I said and tried to hide the panic that slowly spread on my face. I didn't know what to do. What if he had figured out that I lied to him.

"A 'hi' would have been nice." Charlie answered a bit annoyed and before I could even react he had walked past me and into the house. No! This couldn't be happening.

"No, you can't-" Was all that came out of my mouth before I fell silent and just watched Charlie stare at something. Chloe. It must have looked sooooo wrong. We hadn't done anything, but I knew that nothing I could say would make this situation better.
I walked closer to them a few seconds later, when I had gone out of my shock. I saw how Chloe stood up walking over to Charlie.

We both knew that Charlie thought what we absolutely didn't want him to think because it wasn't true. We would never do that to him. Never.
"It isn't what it looks like." Chloe said quickly and I could see the sadness in her eyes. I looked over to Charlie to see that he was crying. No. Please, don't let this be happening.

I tried to say something. tried to make him understand that it wasn't like he thought. Tried to explain the truth to him. Make him feel better. But no words cam out of my mouth. I couldn't say anything, they were like stuck in the throat. And I just wish that I could've changed that, but I can't.

"No, just- just leave me alone." Charlie said and I could tell that he was totally broken. But whatever he thought, it wasn't true, but I couldn't tell him that.
"Charlie, please." Chloe begged and followed him as he walked over to the door.

"Save it." Charlie said coldly and walked out of the house. He slammed the door behind him and I saw how his car drove away down the street outside the window.

Chloe just sank down on the floor crying. After some minutes I got snapped out of the shock or whatever it was. I had been like paralyzed. I walked up to Chloe and sat down beside her. I pulled her into a hug and she cried on my shoulder.
"Why didn't you say anything?!" She sobbed. I didn't really know if she was angry or sad and I don't think she knew that herself either, but she sort of shouted it.

"I-I'm sorry. I was like paralyzed or something. I panicked, I didn't know what to do." I explained. It all just came out in a big mess. Aaaah, this was so messed up.
