The four boys had planned to sit beside each other. Two on one side and two on the other. But, that had not worked out as planned. You see, the bus was much, much more crowded than expected, so they had to make... Arrangements. It was more Len than the four of them, but no one argued.
Len had said that he and Piko would sit in front of Fukase and Oliver, since they were already close to the back. Fukase didn't want to, but Oliver automatically agreed. Fukase then had no choice but to agree as well.
They both sat on the right side of the bus, Len and Piko sitting in the front, Fukase and Oliver behind them. In the very back. Occasionally, Piko would turn and talk to Oliver, but they would mainly just talk to their partner.
"What do you mean a tomato is not a fruit? It has seeds!" Fukase argued, showing a picture of a tomato.
"Because it comes from the ground. Fruits come from trees or flowers." Oliver replied.
"But I thought if it had seeds, then it's considered a fruit! A banana doesn't have seeds, but it's considered a fruit."
"Naturally, they do, but there are ways to produce them without it, even though they are edible. It's complicated, I suppose. It's kinda like us. People think I'm a sophisticated person because I'm British. But in reality, I'm the most unorganized person you will ever meet."
"But you're not that unorganized. You're better than me, that's for sure."
"Hey, don't say that! You keep your room quite tidy," Oliver nodded, putting his phone away. "That's an accomplishment, right?"
"I guess so," Fukase shrugged, crossing his arms as he let out a pout.
"Hey, don't do that!" Oliver giggled as he poked him. "C'mon, smile!" He said.
Fukase shook his head. "I don't want to."
"Aw, please?" Oliver said, getting in front of his face.
As if by magic, the bus hit a bump on the interstate, causing the boys to jerk up. Their lips touched for just one second, causing both their faces to turn bright red.
Oliver quickly sat up, covering his mouth. He felt his face. Damn, it was so hot. He slowly looked over at Fukase, whose face was almost as red as his hair.
"Fukase...I-I am so sorry, I--"
"N-No! I-I mean, don't be sorry. You didn't mean it. Neither of us did--"
"Didn't mean what?"
"Piko!" They both said, getting startled.
"Sorry! I heard a whole bunch of studdering, so I wanted to see what had happened," he shrugged. "So, what happened?"
"Well--"
"An accident," Fukase quickly answered, turning Piko back around. "Play a game or something," he said, his attitude turning cold.
"Alright," Piko pouted as he did just that.
Oliver blinked then looked down at the floor, looking at his black shoes. His face got hot, but it wasn't from embarrassment. What was it? Anger? Sadness? Confusion? Whatever it meant, he knew what triggered it.
"So, what happened?"
"An accident."
