Phoenix's P.O.V

My dad nodded and walked off to the kitchen without a second thought. I sighed as soon as he was out of earshot. I didn't need to keep up the emotionless act anymore. Not that it was much of an act. I turned away from the washing machine and headed back to my room. Time to get ready for school. I grabbed some clothes for today and ran to the bathroom to have a quick shower.

I stripped of the clothes I was already wearing and turned on the water to a nice tempetrure. I climbed in and first things first I got my hair wet then cleaned it with shampoo and conditioner then washed and shaved my body. Only took like five minutes. I got out and turned off the water and looked around the steamy room and I almost felt at home. A nice secluded area that was warm but not to warm.

I shook off the thought and got dressed in a black t-shirt with ripped jeans and a belt with spikes. I looked in the mirror and realised I'm dressed like a vampire. Wow, okay I thought looking at every detail of my reflection. It was actually a bit different then my usual sweater and long black sweats. Wonder what's up today.

I exited the bathroom and went to my room to grab my bag, which was previously packed. I slung it on my shoulder and headed through my house to go to school. I didn't bother with breakfast, I wasn't hungry. I strolled through the kitchen quietly not to disturb my working parents.

I was at the door when the sound of glass shattering filled my ears. I stopped when the sound of shrieking joined the sound. I whipped around this time. I snapped out of whatever trance I was in to see my Mom rushing over to me screaming and shouting.

"MADDOX, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" She shrieked before grabbing my arm. I was confused, "what did happen?" I asked looking around. Not sure what I was looking for though. I then caught sight of nasty cut on my forearm. "Whoa." My eyes widened while my mom shrieked at my dad to call the hospital. "But it's not that bad, Mom." I said quietly, unheard by the adults. But at least now I know where all that blood came from.

"Come on, we're driving to the hospital." My mom said assertively. But why does she care? "Mom no." I said trying to get out of her grasp. She had a tight, firm hold on my wrist. "Mom let go. I don't need the hospital." I said still trying to break free. But to no avail. My mom forced me out of the house with my dad following behind submissively. My mom bossed my dad around just like she bossed me around.

We climbed into her car and she finally let go of my arm. I crawled into the backseat and fastened my seat belt. There was no use fighting my mom; she made up her mind and there was no stopping her.

The car ride was quiet, with an uncomfortable silence in the air. Not that it bothered me, it was always like this when we drove as a family. A silence that made your skin crawl was always found in our car. But the silent car ride was short lived as I peered out the window to see the hospital main building. I let out a sigh, seeing as I'll be late for school. I may get bullied like hell at school, but at least I'm away from my parents.

My mom parked the car and I heard the slapping or the seat belt buckles hitting the car walls. Then I took off my own and crawled out of the car. I didn't pay any attention or care to my arm. I mean it's not like I needed to, I couldn't feel it. I waited for my parents before advancing to the building. This really was a waste of time.

The three of us walked into the hospital and the scent of vaccination and sickness filled my nose. My stomach churned and I groaned quietly. I really didn't want to be here. This is all a waste of time, I can just do stitches in the bathroom at home. No big deal. But noo we need a doctor apparently.

My mom lead me to the front desk but I was too busy examining the interior decor. The white and light pink walls with the few advertisement posters of various people and the many chairs for the companions of the sick and injured. Then there was the desk in front of us. Tall and wooden, it was in a semi circle encasing the woman inside. She was hunched over some paper work with a phone to her ear. She was talking into the phone while taking notes. Her brown hair becoming loose from her messy ponytail, giving a tired look to her appearance. She was maybe 26 or 27, but she looked over worked. And most of all she didn't notice us.

I turned back to my mom she was just a bit taller than me. "Mom, can we please go home?" I asked softly again. She scoffed irritatedly before knocking aggressively on the top of the front desk. The woman behind, dressed in scrubs looked up startled. She dropped the phone with wide eyes and I couldn't help but smirk. I liked messing with people, making them scared or startled. But even through I didn't cause this, it was still nice to smirk.

"Uh, hello." My mom said in a bitchy tone. My mom really pisses me off when she acts like this. The woman picked up the black work phone with a clearing of her throat, regaining her posture. I want to say I'll feel bad for the lady because she is about to have to deal with my mom and her bitch attitude but then again, I don't care.

The woman said a quick goodbye into the telephone before placing it back hitting the hang up button. She then looked back up at us with a fake smile. But I could tell she was hiding her annoyance with my mom through the smile. But good try lady. "What is the matter?" She asked, knowing something was the matter. This was a hospital after all.

"My daughter needs stitches." My mom informed quickly with a narrowing of her eyes. I want to say I'm feeling guilty for having to show this poor lady my mutilated arm but then again I don't really give a shit.

"Please go sit over there while I check your information and insurance." The woman pointed to some chairs and my dad and I went over and sat down. My mom stayed and did all the insurance and paperwork you need at a hospital. Only took like five minutes. But in that very short time, my cut started to bleed again. I got emergency attention before my mom was even finished. Cool now this can be done faster.

I let the two blue clad nurses push me down onto the gurney. While another pumped blood into me. A doctor shouted out orders to all three of the women and I just laid back closing my eyes. My eyelids were heavy and I realised I was exhausted from the blood loss. Or maybe because the sound of the wheels on the gurney were in rhythm and I liked that and this hospital bed wasn't to uncomfortable. All I know is, I'm falling asleep at the hospital.

Great I'm falling asleep at the hospital
