My Missing Piece

You excitedly got ready for your date with Chunji. He had been busy with the new mini album and music videos, so he hadn't had anytime to spend time with you. Now, after a 2 month break, he was coming to your house for your long awaited date. He said that he would bring something for you two to do, but it was a surprise. You hated surprises, but decided to play along with his little game. You quickly took a shower and got dressed in some jeans and the hoodie he once gave you when it was cold outside. It still smelled like his cologne, vanilla and brown sugar. Ignorinig his request, you went downstairs and started to cook some food for the date anyway. After the food was ready and placed on the table, you heard the door bell ring. You hurry and run to the door, and when you open it, you see Chunji leaning against the door frame with his genuine smile.
"Jagiya~" he sings while giving you a hug. It felt so good to be back in his arms. When he pulls away, you see a bag on the floor.

"Hey, what's that for?" you ask with a questioning look.

"It's for our date. And I would love to show you if you actually let my in the door." he says. Blushing, you step to the side and let him in.

"Yah! _______-ah. I told you not to do anything for our date tonight!" yells Chunji as he enters the kitchen.

"But I was bored and it's your favorite." you say as you come in the kitchen and wrap your arms around is waist. You settle your chin in the crook of his neck and he sighs.

"But I brought your favorite." he says while pulling some food out of the bag.

"That's sweet, I guess we can have both." you say as you take a seat. You start to eat happily and enjoy each other's presence until you break the silence.

"So what are we going to do for our date tonight?" you ask. You really thought the dinner was a nice thought, but there had to be more than this. You hadn't seen each other in two months, so surely there had to be more than a little dinner, right?

"Yes, there is more to this date. I pretty sure that you will like it. This is my only day back until I leave again tomorrow." he says. He was leaving again already? But he just got back.

"I'm sorry ___, it's just we are so busy now with the comeback." he says while putting his dishes away.

"It's ok, I understand." you say sadly while you put your dishes away. You turn around and Chunji motions you over to the living room.

"Ok, close you eyes." he says. You obediently do as he says even though you hate every minute of it. You hear a bag being opened and rustling while your hands cover your face.

"Ok. now open them." says Chunji. You open your eyes and your face falls from disappointment.

"You want us to do a 1000 piece puzzle for our date?" you ask with disbelief.

"Well yeah, I love doing puzzles especially with you. I thought you always enjoyed doing them with me." says Chunji. Well yeah, when you saw each other on a regular bases. But not if you see each other once every two months. You were about to object but when you saw Chunji's pleading eyes, you couldn't hurt him.

"Yeah, I love doing them with you. Now lets get started!" you say with a fake enthusiasm. You were afraid he wouldn't buy it, but you internally sigh when you see his face light up.

On your third hour of working on this puzzle, you still couldn't figure out what the picture was. It was driving you crazy. You had been working on the same few pieces, but they wouldn't fit together.

"Ugh! Chunji, what is this picture supposed to be?" you ask in frustration. Maybe if you knew what the picture was, it would help you finish the puzzle.

"It's a surprise, don't ruin it." says Chunji with determination. He shifts his positions from laying on his elbows to sitting up right and hunching over. When he does, you see pieces that were hidden under his body.

"Yah! You were laying on the pieces I needed." you say as you reach over and grab the precious pieces. After you connect them, you add them to the almost finished puzzle and complete it. You look at the picture and it's two diamond rings looped together. You sat there confused when Chunji's voice interrupts your thoughts.

"____-yah."

"Yes."

"You know how we have been dating  for a while, and you have stayed by my side even through my hectic schedule?" Chunji asks. You look up and see his shy face.

"Well, yeah." you say with confusion in your voice.

"Well, before I met you, I felt like I was missing something in my heart. But now that I found you, it's like you completed me. Like you were the missing piece to this puzzle." he says.

"Well, thank you. But why did you choose this puzzle?" you ask.

"______, will you marry me?" asks Chunji while pulling out a ring. You were so shocked no words were coming out of your mouth. Chunji noticed this hesitation and his face dropped.

"Oh, I guess that's a no." he says.

"YES! I mean, no, I mean, Chunji I will marry you!" you say excitedly as you snatch the ring out of his grasp. He smiles and slips the ring on your finger.

"Best date ever." you say as he holds you in his arms.
