Unknown Love Ch. 17

Amy's P.O.V.

I decided then to do something to help out so I walk slowly towards Carter. His black eyes turn to me. Wow, those are some scaring looking eyes. I got a little closer to him and when I was standing in front of him, I felt like my body had caught on fire...it was burning. I got down on the ground and slowly began rocking myself back and forth.

"I didn't touch her!" Carter yells out.

"I know you didn't Carter but your daughter is shifting!" Andrew yells back.

My ears were hurting from their yelling. "Why are you yelling?" I ask whispering.

All of a sudden I felt one of my bones breaking. I let out the loudest scream I could muster. I see someone crouch down in front of me. It was Carter.

"Amy listen to me, your going through your first shift. Do you want Andrew to knock you out so you don't feel anymore pain?" Carter asks.

I nod my head and then I feel another bone breaking. Before I could let out another scream I felt something going into my skin. I think it might've been Andrew putting a needle into my back. Whatever he put in there, I was out like a light.

After I woke up, I realized that I was on the floor. Don't you think I should've been placed on a bed? I got up and realized that I could two furry black paws. What the hell was going on? I tried to talk to get help but I only ended up barking. I saw two sets of legs coming over and someone gets down to my level. I see that it's Carter and he gives me a smile. 

"Want to see what you look like?" He asks.

I move my head up and down and mirror is brought inside. I walk up to it and look at my reflection. Wow! I look awesome!

'You mean we look awesome.' I hear a female voice say.

'Who are you?' I question.

'My name is Layla and you must be Amy, correct?' She asks.

'Yes I am. Why am I shifting just now?' I question.

'I don't know but you might want to ask your father about that.' She responds.

'Okay but how do I shift back?' I ask.

'Oh right, I'm sorry, I was rambling on. Anyways, just picture yourself as a human.' She replies.

'That's easy and how do I shift into...um...you?' I ask.

'Basically the same as before but just picture yourself as us.' She tells me.

An image of me pops up into my head and I feel myself shift back. My bones began to break again but it wasn't as painful as when I first began the shift. I look at Carter who has the biggest smile on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" I question.

"You just shifted. I'm so proud of you." He tells me.

I felt a surge of pride running through my body.

"So about your sister's father. I have something to tell you." He says.

"What about him?" I question.

"He's a vampire." He tells me.
