Ciel lets out a loud sigh that makes the teacher glare at him. He doesn't care about the teacher though, not today.
He hasn't been able to concentrate in any of his classes the past week. His grade might worsen even further if he doesn't get his shit together and work hard next week when It's all over. At that point he will have the ring on his thumb and be burdened with the responsibility to find his soulmate. Another loud sigh escapes his lips and he leans back in his chair. The teacher doesn't even bother to glare at him this time. He decides to look around at the other students faces; he isn't the only one who will get his ring today. The rest of his class is going to as well. It isn't such a big relief as you would imagine, everyone will most likely find their soulmates before Ciel.
Everyone looks kind of nervous. Even the nerds look less concentrated than normal, seeing how some of them are eagerly tapping their feet. Another thing that Ciel noticed was different was the bullies. The three girls in the back of the classroom, Jennie, Sofie and Fanny, also known as "the bullies", was unusually quiet. They even looked like they were a little scared.
Ciel would've loved to tease them for it, but it would probably result in an even more aggressive lunch tray smacking than usual. He decided to keep totally quiet (except for sighing of course). After another 15 minutes of the class, that honestly felt like half an hour, the schoolbell finally rang and all the students rushed out of the classroom, more eager than ever before. After 5 seconds there was only Ciel, Elizabeth and the teacher left in the room. The teacher didn't seem to notice that they were still present, because he mumbled quietly for himself.
The two students slowly left the classroom without making a sound.
Ciel quickly opened his locker and tucked some books that he didn't even need into his backpack. He only did it to distract Elizabeth so that she could see that he was busy, and decide to mind her own godamn business. Of course, that didn't happen.
-"Hello Ciel!" squealed an annoyingly high pitched voice from behind him.
Shit.
It wasn't that Ciel hated Elizabeth or anything. She was pretty cute and she was one of the few people in this damn school that didn't pick on him. However, her clingyness and almost obsessive behavior towards him was enough to put her off the friendslist. Not that he had so many friends that he could make a list but...you know...whatever.
He slowly looked up at her and tried his best to fake a smile. He could only imagine how fake his smile must've looked, but Elizabeth didn't seem to mind. Her green eyes glimmered when he answered:
-"Hi, Elizabeth..." she put a hand to her mouth and giggled. "Call me Lizzy! How many times must I tell you, silly!"
Ciel fought the urge to roll his eyes. It thankfully succeeded.
Elizabe- urgh - Lizzy nervously looked down at the ground. She was most likely gonna talk about the soulmate rings that they would receive... Ciel looked at the clock...in less than 40 minutes now. Her mood would normally not change that fast. He was right.
-"Ciel...who do you want your soulmate to be?" she awkwardly kicked the floor, too loosely to even make a sound. That didn't trick Ciel though, he knew that she was stronger than him. She was the schools best fencer, actually. Most people found it cool, but he actually thought it was kind of scary. She could basically kill him in any given moment if she wanted to. Not that she would... He snapped out of his thoughts and quickly answered her question.
-"Uh... I really don't know Eli...uh...Lizzy. I don't know if I have anyone I prefer..." he looked up at her face.
Fuck.
