I really don't understand my parents any more. Can't they just understand that I need more time? Is it by force? After all, I  am not their only child.
Whenever I pay them a visit, my mother will always reminiscence on my childhood days and then list my friends that have gotten married with children. I have never missed out on the latest news of recently married couples because my parents are the pioneers of the programme. Funny, but truth be told I am tired of hearing this always; she is becoming to sound like a broken record.
It is not as if I want to be forever called Uncle Chidi but when the time is right I will get married.
Other than the marriage issue, my mom is one of the best mothers ever. I really respect her,she resigned as a nurse to take care of my brothers and I. In this our century, women like my mother have gone into extinction. No offence please, just stating the fact. This selfless action of hers earned her respect among the kinsmen and she is referred to as 'Lolo'(this refers to queen in the South Eastern part of Nigeria). My parents love each other dearly;when I was much younger,I used to think that my parents do not fight but when I grew up I became aware of the fact that because the foundation of their marriage is based on Jesus, he made everything well. I silently pray for a woman like my mother : God fearing, caring, loving and beautiful.
My mom still look like a sweet sixteen. Just pulling your legs, she actually looks younger than her age because the joy of the Lord is her strength.
