Prince. . .
My mouth gaped open at what I'd
saw. Had this been true? Or perhaps my eyes had been deceiving me? What ever it'd been, I was completely amazed by it. Although I'd honestly been shocked by YN's drastic changes of attitude towards me, I never would have guessed, that YN could clean for me. And the fact that she'd done it had completely made me believe that the good in YN was slowly coming out of her. The process seemed slow, even though it'd only been about a week of YN's stay. I turned to the kitchen, noticing that the crooked pictures had been replaced and rearranged. The counters and tables were clean , I would be able to see my reflection if it could be possible to. The rugs and carpets, vacuumed and removed of the glass. The pictures, back in order like I suppose they were when the house was first built and decorated. The inside of the home had seemed perfect, almost too perfect to believe that someone like YN, coming from that horrible and dirty background of hers , was capable of doing all this alone.
I think I'd been fantasising the beautiful decor for longer than I thought, because I'd felt a small shove on my back to enter the house.
"Come on, Jacob. These bags are heavy." Chresanto whined. I closed my mouth and sat the tub of clothes I'd gotten from Rachel on the table, along with some groceries that dear Michelle had bought, a bag of chips Chresanto'd purchased on the side. Rachel also helped and took couple of snacks and fruits and vegetables from her sister's house.
Rachel picked the tub of clothes up and took them into the room to put them in drawers and in the closet. Chresanto sat at the table and covered his face and sighed as if he had five jobs
"I can't believe I'm doing this for you, Jacob." He mumbled.
"Sorry for the inconvenience." I said as I took the groceries out the bags and began to put them up.
"Where she at anyway?" He questioned me as he looked around. I nodded my head toward the couch and he shot his attention toward her direction.
Much like Ray, he stood up and got closer to her to get a better look of her covered face. He reached his arm out to move the cover and observe her, but was quickly stopped by a warning.
"I wouldn't touch her if I were you. She gave Ray a bloody nose just for being Ray." I said.
He shrugged and looked back at her. "She won't be able to do nothing to me." He said smugly and began to move the blanket down. I stopped what I'd been doing and gave them my undivided attention.
Chres moved her hair and moved closer to her face, and just like I'd predicted, she'd reacted to him being so close. She threw her hand to the side of his face and pushed him back, causing him to stumble a little.
She shot straight up and looked around as if she was lost or alone with him, until she spotted me.
"Who the fuck is this." She said with a bad attempt to hide her true anger.
"It's just my younger brother, Chresanto." I explained, trying to calm her.
"Man, don't tell her shit about me." Chres said with a trace of anger also trailing behind his voice. He rubbed the side of his face a little before removing it and clenching his jaw.
"Shut the fuck up." She demanded him with her finger pointed to him. YN stood with her large leather jacket caped around her body that slowly fell back down to the couch. I wanted them to stop, but for one I just didn't know what to say, and for two, if it would end in a fist fight, I wouldn't want to be a part of that.
I slowly walked over to them and could feel the tension in the air. I watched as they deeply mugged each other, as if they'd been polar opposites, and it seemed like if the two were ever put together in the same room or area, all hell would break loose.
