Marcie didn't sleep well that night after the incident.
It was past noon, yet Zilly wouldn't wake up. The small, brown, and pink-haired figure just lay there, breathing softly.
Marcie hobbled out of the room on her crutches.
As she looked in the hall, she noticed that nobody had cleaned the syringe and blood from that night. The crimson liquid shone as she passed it, and when she looked in the syringe, a liquid the color of a pale green remained inside it.
Silly didn't tranquilize everyone, did she?
Marcie decided to investigate the hospital.
Almost exclaiming as she tripped over something; no, someone. She noticed that the figure remained indifferent as she slammed one of her crutches on top of it so she could stabilize herself.
Marcie quickly looked back to see who it was.
A young nurse with green pigtails.
Botany... She realized in horror as she looked further where her cracked glasses lay on the ground, undisturbed.
Further down the first corridor, more bodies lay, not dead, but in a deep sleep.
Marcie hurriedly rushed through the halls. Everyone was asleep except a few nurses, patients, and security guards.
She turned again and saw an elevator.
Maybe I can check the other floors...
Pressing a button, she glanced around for someone to stop her. Surprisingly, no one did, and she advanced onto the second floor.
Only a few lay on the ground, asleep.
Third floor.
Barely anyone.
The roof.
Swarmed with unconscious people.
Oh my god...
Marcie rushed back to her room, trying not to process what had happened.
Zilly was awake, however, when she returned.
"Hi, Marcie... Gee, you look exhausted!"
"Your daughter..." Marcie panted. "...is a lunatic."
"How could you say that about her?!" Zilly retorted, getting into a wheelchair.
"Lots of bodies. Unconscious... Might be... Dead!" She tried to explain, but it all seemed like nonsense.
"...and I'll do that to you if you talk like that about me again." A low voice murmured behind Marcie, startling her and causing her to attempt to run away, throwing her crutches behind her.
"You missed... Can you be more paranoid, oka-san?"
More?! You threatened to tranquilize me!
"Stop that!" Marcie yelled, walking towards her, anger placed into each step, making her seem like she was stomping like a giant.
"Ah! Oka-san! You're standing so well, and the way you're advancing toward me makes me believe you don't need those crutches anymore!"
