I woke up eatly next morning so I could be ready for school which I didn't want to go to. I look over in the wardrobe and there's nothing to wear, so I call Amanda to tell I have nothing to wear.
"Ohh I nearly forgot." She replies to my phone call. "Your uniform in a gift bag downstairs near the fireplace."
"Uniform?" I ask.
"Yes. You wear uniform here in England."
"Ohh God." I mumble and hangup. The revolting look of the uniform made me vomit; the black colour and the tie with yellow and black stripes coverts my emotions from grief to disgust. "Ugh" I gasp.
Amanda calls me from downstairs that we need to go. I was still fighting from jetlag which meant that it was still night in Canada and made me super sleepy. I go downstairs and Amanda has pancakes made for me, and John's doing the usual, paperwork. I take a seat on one of the chairs of the dining table which seemed to be a hundred years olds.
"Do you know much about your family or why we've brought you here?" Asks Amanda. I knew the answer was no, but I really didn't know much about my family at all. So, I don't answer her question.
"Your great grandfather moved to America during word war ll. He later moved to Canada with your great grandmother- this makes you half British." She talks formally.
"How do you know?" I ask because all I know is that my family is nothing other than a army family.
"We're related. Sort of. But far." She gasps taking a while just to think for a stupid answer.
I don't answer, all I do is wait until I get to this unpleasant school.I've never seen the house from the outside but it looked so much bigger. We get into the car so I don't get soaked by the rain because my bandaged were still not waterproof.
"If anything happens to those bandaged, just call me." She explains.
"What sort of high school is it? That you have to wear uniform in?" I ask because I was annoyed.
"Um...it's sort of a collage and...I don't know. I think its a collage- maybe the first year of collage. Its called Sir John Thursby Community Collage. So it must be a college. By the way, your only sixteen."
Yeah but I'm nearly seventeen. And as far as I know, I should be in collage, I think. We reach school. It looks quite modern but the clouds and the fog just makes it a lot more creepier than the mansion. I walk through a tiny path which leads to a bigger one and I enter from entrance doors and into the reception.
"Hi." A lady with brown hair says. She has cheerful voice and a wide smile on her face. "I'm the head teacher, Mrs Honeybee."
I sit down on one of the chairs in the head teacher's office. I look around and everything is so neat and tidy. Every bookshelf has been organised from A-Z and I wonder if she's as sweet as her name.
"Um... I've heard you've been through a lot of grief for the past few days and its a good thing to have a change in your life during this period of time." She describes my emotions and feeling as if she knew everything but, no one can imagine what I had been through. "Well back to the point." She quicly mumbles under her breath. "We will set you into some classes but I belive that you will be moving back to Canada, right?" She asks whilst I nodd.
"Right! Let me walk you over to your first class. Its science!" She cheers.
We walk through a few corridors until we find the science pod. The entire school is so colourful but still dull because of the uniforms. I see people in the library, which was quite small but cosy whilst looking down over a bridge.
My legs aced when walking and my breath got heavier. I wore skinny jeanes which compressed the bandage onto my leg to make it less recognisable. I walk into the science lab which looked more like a classroom than anything to do with science. Everybody stares at me for a few minutes until Mrs Honeybee introduces me.
"This is Sarah and she's new. Make her feel welcomed." She says summarizing cheerfully, smiling towards the class.
I sit down in the only space I can find. Its a girl who sits next to me, her handwriting so much better than me. I just wonder if I'd make it through this first lesson without running out of the classroom.
I wonder if I can keep myself in control.
