Chapter 3- Left Behind

I woke up from dream which wasn't a dream, but a memory. I wonder if my family is ok. I was shot four times and I'm sure that nobody else was hurt as much as I were.
I remove the duvet away from me and start searching my body for bandages. There were bandages everywhere; one on my left arm, two on my stomach and the fourth was on my left leg. Wonder why I weren't able to walk last night.
I try to get up but and invincible force drags me down just like last night. I keep my oxygen mask on because I'm scared what would happen if I take it off. I drag the lamp with the liquid medicine in towards the door. I didn't take the needle out of my forehand because I'd expected it to be quite long.
I try not to make a sound but the wheels of lamp keep squeaking like hummingbirds. I walk through the corridor of this building I was living in; the ancient walls and the paintings on the walls made the house seeem so creepy. Although, I was inside, I try to picture the outside of the building: I picture an old mansion, possibly surrounded by trees and mountains, probably in the suburbs and a river flowing beside the mansion.
"Sarah, what are you doing up so early?" Asked Amanda whilst coming out of her room.
"You forcefully gave me anesthesia!" I shout on the top of my lungs whilst I take my oxygen mask off. I put it onto one of the hangers on top of the lamp.
"Take this thing out of me!" I order her to take the needle out of my forehand.
"Alright. Now, calm down, okay." She comes near me and starts fidgeting with the needle.
"This might hurt." She quickly pulls the needle out of my hand whilst I squint my eyes.
"Och" I gasp. "What the hell is going on? And why am I here? Where am I?"
"Slow down with the questions. I'll answer everything." Amanda holds my arm, pulling me towards a couch. And I sit down.
"Sit here I'll get you something to eat. What would you like,  tea or coffee?" She asks me leaning towards a tiny little table- which she trys to clean it with a napkin.
"Coffee." I say quietly.
She disappears out of the door. I wait for her to give me an explanation when she comes back in.
"Now, let me explain." She begins as soon as she gets back. "Your family...um...they were very badly...you know, injured and...they...they um..."
I knew what she was going to say. I just didn't have the courage to say it myself.
"...they died. All of them." She finishes quickly.
My heart seemed to stop for a minute, I wished I was dead too, I wished I never came into the house to get that gift, I wish I could just turn back in time.
I couldn't feel my face. My chest aced like a thousand stones had been hit. My hands wouldn't respond to my brain. I was a living corpse. The feeling of never seeing Isaac fight with me will never be returned, the time I'd join forced with Erica so we could ask Mom for an expensive lip gloss palet and the time Mom and Dad would take us out on a family trip and we'd fight over where to go.
But now, I had no one.
