Change of heart ❤ (#writingchallenge)

Lunch

Randhir was standing with Parth. I guess he introduced him to the office. They both hugged each other and Parth whispered something for which Randhir let out a chuckle. Do they both know each other before? I guess.

After sometime everybody was busy working when peon came to me and informed me that Randhir called me to his cabin.

I knocked. "Come in" came his stern voice from inside. There was something wrong. He seemed serious. I walked in and saw him drinking another coffee. Something is wrong. He drinks coffee twice only when he is pissed off. We notice our crush's every move, right?

"Yes Randhir" I said. He looked up and gritted his teeth, then he forced a smile. Why was he forcing a smile?

"Sanyukta, actually Avinash is on leave. So we have to attend a meeting. It's going to be after one hour. So, can you prepare for the presentation?"

"Yeah sure." I took the file from him and left to prepare for the meeting . I'm tensed somewhere this is going to be my very first meeting. I hope it goes well.

I started preparing for the presentation. After one hour I was fully prepared. We were set to go. I took all the things I needed and left tot he parking lot, where Randhir was waiting for me.

We reached in some 15 mins or something and Randhir is very punctual. So, we were on time.

"Sanyukta, you stay here I'll be right back" he told me and left the conference room. This place is like the conference halls they show in movies. It was really big. I think a lot of people are going to attend this meeting. Now, I became nervous. How am I going to do this? I closed my eyes and started praying to god. Nobody was present in the hall. I was seriously chipping all the sweet things to god, when suddenly someone put their hand on my shoulder.

"Ahhh" I freaked out. It's like I was in a horror movie. "It's me sanyukta , Randhir. Are you fine? ". "Actually I didn't see you coming. I thought it was someone else and yes I'm fine."

"Okay. Actually the meeting is after lunch. So, come we'll go to the nearby hotel and have lunch there." He said. "Lunch! Yes ,yes. We should go. " I was relieved for the time being. "Were you that hungry? " He asked with an amusing expression on his face. He was looking handsome with a smile on his face. He was actually sulking from the time, we left the office.

"Sanyukta? Where are you?" He said waving his fingers before me. "Actually you..ah..sorry me... no I..." "It's okay. Let's go. I'm really hungry." He said rubbing his hand on his tummy. I chuckled and we left the office and drove to the nearby hotel.

"What would you like to eat?"

"Spring rolls and Chinese chop Suey." I said. Actually this is a Chinese restaurant. I think Randhir has visited this restaurant a number of times. He knows the manager here. He even knows the waiter. Randhir gave his order and the waiter left.

" Do you like chinese?" I asked him.
" Yes. I love chinese and this restaurant too. I come here very often." He answered my unasked questions also.

After a few minutes, we were eating our food. I must say the food is really good. I want to kiss the chef's hands. I was moaning at every bite.

" I guess you liked the food a lot." Randhir said.
"Yes. I literally would love to kiss the chef's hands." I said and he chuckled.
" I also said the same thing ,the first time I ate here. The food is amazing." He said and I smiled.

"Sanyukta, so do you have a boyfriend?" He asked. I choked on the water I was drinking. I didn't expect him to be interested in my life.
" Are you fine?" He got up.
"No,no. I'm fine." He sat down. "I don't have a boyfriend. And you? I'm sure you have a girlfriend!" I said. It was so easy to tell. But, I hope his answer is no!!.
"No, I don't have a girlfriend." He said with a smile on his face.
" Thank god! You don't have a girlfriend." I said ,only to realise that I said it out ,too loud. He had an amusing look on his face.
"Why, do you like me?" He asked straight and I froze. I didn't know what to reply. What I'm I suppose to reply?....
" Woh.. actually a lot of girls in our office have crush on you. So, they would be shattered to know that ,you have a girlfriend." I covered it. I mentally patted my back for such a good cover-up. I was in my self praising session. When his another question blew me away.
" What about you sanyukta?" He still had that smile plastered on his face which turned into a smirk soon. He was smirking. I blushed. This time my mind went blank. The only saviour at this time, God!!!

God! Please save me from his questions. Please only this time as if my prayers were answered. His phone rung. He picked up and chipped something and he stood up, signalling me that we have to go.

The phone call was from the delegates. They have arrived and we're ready for the meeting. Now, i'm sitting here in the conference hall, which is getting filled up slowly . After sometime the meeting started and the presentations started. There were only 3 companies and after Malhotra's, it's​ my turn to give the presentation. I am nervous.

Randhir placed his hand on my hand. I looked towards him and he blinked his eyes assuring me that I will do it. I was happy that he had confidence in me. This build the confidence inside me. I'm ready now. The little nervousness was gone. I smiled back, confidently.

It was my turn and I started my presentation. After sometime I was done.As my presentation ended the lights were switched on and everybody were applauding. The delegates,who have come from London wee impressed. They shaked hands with Randhir and sealed the deal with our company.

Everybody was praising me and congratulating Randhir. I looked towards Randhir, who was now shaking hands with the Malhotras. I chipped an inaudible thank you to him, when he looked at me. To which he replied with a wink. I was bemused to see such a cool reply to thank you.

Today is actually my lucky day. I had lunch with Randhir got to know him and his tastes. The best part was he doesn't have a girlfriend!!!. I'm acting like a teen now. The meeting was successful and now I had confidence on my self and the credit goes to Randhir again, for having that confidence on me that I could do this.
I was really thankful to Randhir.
