<Caroline's POV>
I looked around at the trees but kept walking. The trees shaded my eyes from the sun and I swear, if Connor was going to slow down or trip again, I was going to leave him.
"Connor, we can't play the game if you keep falling behind." I said and stood in front of him, as he was on the ground. I let out a hand and picked him up. "My back is going to give out, and I'm only 13."
"Do you want to stop playing the game then?" He said, letting go of my hand and dusting himself off. I shook my head yes and crossed my arms.
"Sometimes, it's hard to believe we're related." I started walking again.
"Come on, you know you love me."
I ignored his ignorant remark, and kept walking.
"Next time I will leave you behind."
Connor and I had traveled from Pennsylvania to Georgia in a minimum of 7 weeks. Car, foot, and bike (even though that lasted 5 minutes). We were actually doing perfectly fine. We were only traveling to Georgia because I thought of the only safe place from my favorite TV show.
The prison set from The Walking Dead.
But nobody has been there since the mid season finale. And I, being the person I am, I know where we're going. I think.
We came up upon an empty field. I saw a dirt road leading somewhere and we followed it. We came up to an abandoned house. Connor was about to open the door and I stopped him.
"What are you doing?" I said, and I put my hand over his quickly and stopped him. He took his hand of the knob. "We can't just go in, we have make how many there are."
I walk over to one of the windows, and I practically bang the window so hard, I was surprised they didn't break.
"Season 4, Episode 1." I said.
Before we knew it, 4 walkers lined up against the windows trying to eat us. Connor walked over to the door and counted down.
3... 2... 1...
He opened the door and they came out one by one, each of them falling to the ground as we killed them the only way we knew how. In the head.
"Okay! Nice." Connor said, his clothes and face were now caked in walker blood and so was I. He laughed and he pointed to my shirt. I looked down, the blood almost formed a smiley face on my once-clean white shirt.
I giggled and rolled my eyes.
"We need to get in there, and see what we have." I said sternly, and I ruined the moment. Connor frowned at me.
I walked in first. I heard a light pounding and growling and I stopped. Connor bumped into me and fell back.
"Come on, up!" I said, turning around and facing him. "There's still one in here, but it can't get out."
I squealed.
"Season 4, Episode 7!"
"Oh my god, shut up." Connor said, as he lifted himself up. I pushed him back down. "Hey!"
"Deal with it."
We continued to walk through the house, opening every door making sure we found the walker.
We finally opened the door and the walker fell out. It's knees on down, were gone. It grabbed my hand and pulled me so hard, I fell. I screamed, and grabbed my knife from its pocket. Connor was practically screaming his head off and crying, grabbing my free arm that wasn't grabbing for my knife.
"Con! Let go!" I yelled. He let go and I tried to kill the walker but I was too far away to stab it in the head. I didn't have my gun because we didn't want to attract sound, but Connor's screaming was doing just that. I got my knife and tried to cut the walker's arm off, because Connor was now crying in a corner.
I finally cut its arm off and successfully killed the walker.
"Thanks for trying to get me killed!" I yelled at Connor. "Why couldn't you have stopped crying for a minute and have helped me!"
"Sorry! When I saw that walker grabbed you it scared me half to death! I didn't want to lose you!" He yelled back.
"Well, you being scared half to death, would have lost me!"
I yelled and I ran out. I left the house, grabbing my gun, and ran into the field, leaving Connor behind at the house.
I got to a safe distance away and I hid in the bushes. I sat there and cried. I guess I was crying pretty loud, because 10 minutes later, I heard footsteps coming closer. I stood up in panic it was a walker.
I heard the footsteps get louder, as someone emerged from the trees. I quickly ducked in the bushes, before the person saw me. The person stopped moving and the looked in my direction.
"Hello?" They called. I just sat there. "I know someone's out there."
I heard their footsteps get closer, and I became scared all the more. My heartbeat quickened and my breathing became more staggered. I finally gave up and stood up in the person's clear view.
It was a boy, and he was right in front of the bushes. My face showed fear and his did too. But his quickly softened and mine did too as I said this,
"Are you Chandler Riggs?"
