MinSeok dreaded the feeling love. He didn't want to mate, he didn't want to be addicted and subordinated to another person. Since he was a small pup, MinSeok was used to doing his own thing. He hated relying on people, he then felt more like a burden. Yifan and Tao treated him as a son and Sehun saw a real brother in him, still he felt left out from the whole pack. He didn't show it. This feeling had started when he was about ten. YiXing predicted he had depression at the age of thirteen. Since it wasn't a physical sickness, it wasn't going heal on its own.
MinSeok felt more human after hearing the news. Nobody except the two and his adoptive parents knew. He distanced himself from wolves of his age because he did not want anyone to know. And knowing people his age, it would have spread like a wild fire.

MinSeok spent most time in fictional worlds where some action happened and in the end the prince rescues the princess. He always scoffed after he finished reading, but secretly he wanted to rescue his princess as well. He always imagined how Yifan would tell him about his parents; beta mother and alpha father. His mother would have always nagged about being able to do everything on her own but also secretly loved being spoiled or carried by her mate. His father would have smiled and said "I know you do." They would have been deeply in love, in his imagination. Then his mother got pregnant.
Now, an adult, MinSeok didn't believe that dream anymore. His mother was probably raped by a lone wolf. The memory of his mother made him afraid of love. He knew he would never leave his mate and pups but life is not immortal, and so is love.

So when he picked up JongDae from his parent's hut for their next shift, he did it with a friendly intention. Greeting his lovely parents with a small bow, he heard the stomping of JongDae running to the front door. Stopping abruptly, the omega blushed deeply when he saw MinSeok.

Blushing at the sight of JongDae's blush, the older cleared his throat. "Hi." JongDae opened his mouth but only a nervous, awkward laugh escaped which made him blush even more. The air around them was weirdly tense and caused to form a lump in MinSeok's throat. "Ready?" JongDae's nod was enough, and so they started walking towards the clearing where the older children were playing. Some parents and pregnant wolves were scattered, laying in the midday sun. BaekHyun and ChanYeol sat on a shady spot and waved shortly to the young wolves.

A hoard of seven to eleven year old boys came running to them, screaming and screeching unclear words, all children filled with joy that finally older and cooler wolves had time to play with them.

"Tag, you're it!" a smaller girl with short brown hair screamed while crashing her hand onto MinSeok's belly, then running away. The children scattered in all directions, pulling JongDae along. "I'm going to count to ten." MinSeok yelled. He strolled over to ChanYeol and his pregnant mate and held a short conversation with them before following the scent of nervous and excited puppies.

About a minute of jogging through the mixed wood, he smelled JongDae with two eight year olds by his side. Being in the hunting team was an advantage. He slowly came creeping up the three wolves. "Got you!" He yelled, which made the two children scream and run again while JongDae just looked alarmed. He then let out a huff and glared. "Holy crap, you scared me, MinSeok." He then laughed shortly. Meanwhile MinSeok could only stare amazed.

Between the great pines -only a few sunrays reaching JongDae's hair- he looked like an angel. Hair shining, eyes glimmering with joy, a white, pearly laugh sprawled across his sexy lips, twisted something in MinSeok. In the next moment, he found himself pinning JongDae's hands over his head, back fully pressed against one of the trees, faces too close to think properly. MinSeok noticed how the omega's eyes fluttered, his smell changed and his breath hit MinSeok's lips ragged. He felt hot all over as the air around them began to prickle. JongDae was so attractive.

"Tag, you're it!" MinSeok whispered, before silencing JongDae's whine with pressing his lips onto the others. MinSeok felt ecstatic. His whole body and mind was on fire, his stomach was filled with a buzzing, curling heat and feeling JongDae's body struggling under him – desperate to get closer – made him even more addicted to the omega's touch. He let JongDae's arms free and immediately felt them curled into his shirt. His legs went weak, his mind suddenly dizzy. None of them knew what they did, the kiss a mess. JongDae's high moan brought him back to reality, and reluctantly, MinSeok disrupted the kiss. One hand next to JongDae's head, the other hard on his hip, MinSeok breathed deeply. His eyes were pressed shut. JongDae was breathing heavily as well. One hand moved its way from the alpha's back to his cheek, his eyes never leaving MinSeok's closed lids.

"MinSeok" he whispered, the insecure tone evident. JongDae's moan and the way he had said his name had burned itself in MinSeok's brain. He slowly opened his eyes with furrowed brows. JongDae had an unsure and confused expression on his face. MinSeok cursed himself and abruptly moved away. JongDae was still leaning on the tree while searching his breath, eyes still not leaving MinSeok.

"I'm sorry." MinSeok looked to the ground. "I didn't mean to attack you like that." The good feeling disappeared as fast as it came, leaving MinSeok cold and confused. He heard JongDae leave.

"Come on, let's catch those rascals." He said. MinSeok ran up to his side.

Returning to their pack in the evening for the large dinner, which was a tradition for every day, MinSeok walked JongDae to the table where his parents sat. He nodded a goodbye and left to sit next to his best friend. On his whole way, he received knowing or jealous looks from every direction. He bet that everyone could smell his confusion plus the slight remaining smell of his and JongDae's mixed arousal. Nothing made sense anymore. LuHan looked at MinSeok with a cutely scrunched face before continuing to eat his deer. He wasn't hungry anymore.

Meanwhile JongDae was way too churned up and overwhelmed by feelings that he was unable to eat anything. His mother smiled knowingly at him. "You can talk to me, you know." She said and patted his father's back, who growled lowly. JongDae couldn't talk.

They weren't on duty the following week. MinSeok longed for JongDae during that time, yet wasn't able to build up enough courage to speak to the omega. He recently started to hang out more with JongIn which did not bother him at all –at least he told himself so. JongIn was a strong built, handsome beta (who could act like a baby in seconds). But the whole pack knew that he was helplessly pining after KyungSoo. The eighteen year old could have every omega and female beta. MinSeok didn't know why KyungSoo would always reject his charming dongsaeng over and over again, but now he wanted to curse KyungSoo. Why did JongIn go off when he was courting KyungSoo? Did he give up and decided to test his luck on JongDae? MinSeok didn't care. The dull pain close to his heart was annoying but he just tried to ignore it. Not that it was something major, it would definitely disappear on its own.
