Alex's POV

Well... now that Ali has died we can do better at rationing food.

Jasmine's POV

"We should leave sooner," I say, "they could come back for all we know."
"Why did they even come." Paige asks.
"Who is they?" Kaylie cuts in, then realizes without anyone answering her.

"Well, it was probably terrorist looking for anyone who is still alive." Alex answers.
"Do you think they got anyone at the school?" Farah asks.
"They should be fine if they stay inside." Evan replies.

We spend the rest of the day packing. Occasionally looking up at the sky in fear of another helicopter. By the end of the day we pack two vans, two trucks, and a suburban. I look into the garage. We would leave the fj behind.

"Why don't we call it a day and head to Springfield in the morning." I suggest.
"Sure, let's get some rest then." says Claire.

I walk back in to the office... bookroom..... and sit down. Kaylie walks in behind me. She starts to read a book. I look at my watch. 11:47 pm.

"We have to get up at dawn tomorrow." I say to Kaylie.
"Yeah, I'm going to go to sleep." she yawns.
"Me too. Goodnight." I whisper.

I close my eyes.

I sit at the kitchen table. My dad is out of town for the week at work. My mom hands me a bowl of food. I look inside to see egg, ketchup, and rice.

"Do I have to eat it." I ask.
"Yes, eat it, then get ready for bed." she replies.

I slowly pick up my chopsticks and start eating.

I open my eyes.

"Mama." I say, only to realize it was a dream.
"I miss you." I whisper.
~~~~~~~~
Mothers Day
~~~~~~~~
you gave me life
helped me up
taught me beautiful things
you helped show the best in me
by showing the best in you
I've seen you at your worst
and you've seen me at mine
but we still found a way to make it out together

I look at my watch. It reads 5:00 am.

"Kaylie wake up!" I scream in her ear.
"Dude, seriously." she says.
"What we need to go to town." I say.
"Fine." she mumbles as she braids her hair into two braids.

I slowly braid my hair into one braid. I pick up my bag and head at the door with Kaylie at my heels.

I see the other sleeping on the ground peaceful. I then scream at the top of my lungs to wake people up.

Evan's POV

Noise fills my ears.

"Stupid Asian." I mumble out.
"Wake up!" Jasmine shrieks in my ear. She let's out a giggle.

I reach out to slap her across the face. But I miss as she steps back giggling.

"Asian." I say to her.
"Ginger." she replies back.

I sit up and look at her still giggling. I roll my eyes.

Farah's POV

I wake up to the sound of Jasmine laughing. I look up to see Evan try to back hand her, but miss because he's still lying on his back from sleeping. Jasmine starts to laugh louder. I look to see everyone else awake.

"Let's hit the road" I hear Alex say.

We walk outside to the cars with Jasmine now snorting instead of laughing. I get into a car with Emma and see everyone else shuffling into a van or truck.

Kaylie's POV

Me and Jasmine get into a black van.

"DAMN DANIEL! Back at it again with those black vans!" I scream as I hand the keys to Jasmine.
"I'm driving?" she asks.
"If you don't know the way, we can ask Farah." I reply.
"What, how?" she responds.
"Walkie-talkies" I laugh as I pick up the walkie-talkie on the dashboard.

Jasmine pushes on the gas pedal as Farah gives her go.
