Resurrection

Shunsui POV

     "It's been a while old friend I've been caught up with so much work lately I've hadn't had the chance to greet you in the mornings," he says while looking at the grave of his deceased friend. "Funny how there is still work to do at peaceful times like these." He stares at the newly bloomed flowers of the garden near the grave. "Spring was your favorite season despite you always catching a cold, but you always found the beauty of seasons, that was like you." Nanao:" Captain your tea?" "Thank you very much why don't you join me?" Nanao:"I'm sorry sir but we will be late for the meeting with Captain Kurotsuchi." "Hmm I wanted to spend some time with my niece ," he said pouting his lips. Nanao:"I'm not a kid lets go!" "I'll talk to you later, Ukitake..."

Kurotsuchi POV

     "NEMU! Hand me those files!" Nemu:"Yes Master Mayuri!" Mayuri:"I told you not to call me that!" Nemu:"Understood Captain Mayuri!" Mayuri:"Well that's improvement..." Shunsui:"Good morrow Captain Kurotsuchi!" Mayuri:"Likewise." Shunsui:"Nanao why don't you play with the little one while we discuss." Nanao:"Captain are you sure we can discuss without-," just as she stopped little Nemu was pulling on her sleeve. Nanao:"Understood." They exit the room. Shunsui :"Now that they're out of the way lets get into the science." Mayuri:"Normally the other Captain would have refused my ideas but your one to talk, you have desires and I want to accomplish them." Shunsui:"If this is what we discussed previously; there is a possibility to bring back one from the dead. We've seen your performance back at the battle with Yhwach when you resurrected the arrancars." Mayuri:"My test subjects are phenomenal however the only problem is that I need the required brain intact with the corpse to resist decay."  Shunsui:"You've been storing corpses as we speak?" Mayuri:"Since the early battles with Sōsuke Aizen. I however have had to be present in order to preserve the body. But afterwards I would sent a team to do the work for me, they hit the jackpot." Shunsui:"How is my request coming along?"

        Mayuri:"As for your friend, I'm afraid it won't work the same way with the arrancars." Shunsui:"So you can't bring him back." Mayuri:"His body was too fragile and weak in the first place. I can however do the same I did to Nemu." Shunsui:"He'll be reborn?" Mayuri:"We collected just enough cellular molecules to do so." Shunsui:"Then I approve your request to proceed with your experiments." Mayuri:"Very well. All that's left is time." Shunsui:"Mind I ask whom else you plan to resurrect."  Mayuri:"Why don't I show you." In another room he showed me these large tubes which seemed to be incubators of some sorts. Mayuri:"Right on time just one of them is about to be completed." Shunsui:"Is he armed?" Mayuri:"It will be unlikely for them to return to their original condition before death, they will need time to acustom to their body." I watched as he powered off the incubator, there was a trail of mist as it slowly opened to reveal a once deceased Captain. Shunsui:"My god it actually worked." Mayuri:"Step out...Ichimaru Gin..." He stepped up wearing nothing but a white kimono.

      Just slightly he opened his eyes, what a rare sight. Mayuri:"Do you know where you are?" No response. Shunsui:"He maybe just confused. Let me try...Ichimaru Gin this might sound crazy but you feel it yourself you are alive. Can you tell us anything?" Gin:"......" Shunsui:"Well that's alright take your time." Gin:"Rangiku..." Shunsui:"You're referring to lieutenant Matsumoto?" Gin:"Is she...okay?" Shunsui:"Shes doing well." Gin:"Thank you,...can I see her?" Mayuri:"Soon, your body first has to rest. Nemu!" Nemu:"Yes Ma-Captain Mayuri!" Mayuri:"Take Ichimaru and provide him everything he needs food, water etc!" Nemu:"Right away!" She went to pull on his sleeve indicating to follow her. Shunsui:"In the meantime looks like I have to hold a meeting with all of the Captains and their lieutenants about our current findings. I won't reveal Ichimaru yet, we need to know whether or not he will do anything unexpected." Mayuri:"Very well." Shunsui exits.
