Zelda blinked her eyes open, sleep still seeping from her. She sniffed... and again.... and again. Something smelled good. REALLY good.
"Link?" She moaned, reaching her hand over to him, but instead of a warm body she got a warm bed. "What?" She sat up, looking over at indeed an empty bed. She sniffed again, recognizing the smell. "Pancakes?" She slipped out of bed, stepping into her fluffy slippers as she left her room and made her way down the stairs. "Link?" She called, halfway down the stairs.
"Kitchen!" His voice responded from downstairs.
"Of course." Zelda mumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes and stepping off the stairs to the first floor. She made her way to the kitchen, following the wonderful smell and froze. In the kitchen at the table were her three kids, devouring some hefty pancakes, Link at the stove, making more, and another untouched plate of three glorious pancakes.
"Happy Mother's Day!" The children shouted through mouths full of pancakes and syrup and chocolate. Zelda beamed, a huge smile crossing her face as she stepped towards the table, then turned towards Link, who was returning the look.
"You did this?" She asked, stepping towards him.
"Their idea." He responded, jerking his head towards the three kids at the table.
"Well I love it!" She walked over and gave each child a large hug. Link grabbed her arm and pulled her into a kiss, earning a few "Ew!'s" from the kids.
"Happy Mother's Day." He whispered into her ear.
"I'm not your mother." Zelda looked up at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Does that mean I'm not allowed to kiss you?" He mirrored her raised brow, his thumbs stroking her arms.
"Heck no." Zelda brought her mouth to his and kissed him tenderly, against the children's protestations. She grinned against his lips, and pulled away. "You might want to check those pancakes before they burn." She said, gesturing towards the pan on the stove.
"Well, I like mine," Link leaned close to her ear. "Crispy." He said, and poked her side, making her flinch. He stepped back, turning to the stove and took the pan, flipping the pancake in it rather stylishly. Zelda went and sat at the table, looking down at the extravagant plate before her. Three pancakes lathered generously in syrup. Zelda took the fork beside it and impaled the first pancake, folding it until it was a small, thick triangle on her fork. Link turned in time to see her shove the whole pancake into her mouth rather unladylike and his eyes widened.
"Was that the whole pancake?" He asked, still staring at her as she chewed, slowly swallowing. She finished the last bit and looked at him slyly. She pointed her fork at him, and grinned.
"You better believe it." He started laughing as he turned back and placed the pancake onto the platter beside him.
"This is why I married her." He said, looking to their kids. Hunter looked down at his plate as he folded his pancake, imitating his mother as he attempted to fit the giant cake into his 7 yr old mouth
"Don't choke." Zelda giggled as the child struggled to bite it and eventually settled for about a third of it. Link slid into a chair beside her, his plate containing three large chocolate chip pancakes smothered in syrup. Zelda watched as he did it too, folded his pancake, stabbed it, and put the whole thing into his mouth. Zelda rolled her eyes as he chewed, swallowed and grinned cheekily at her. Zelda simply mockingly sneered back.

The plate clattered into the dishwasher as Link stepped away from the sink. Zelda stepped into him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Thank you for breakfast." She whispered, kissing him. Link returned it, bringing his hands to her hips and slowly... slowly to her backside. "Hey." She hissed, separating their lips. "Not here."
"Fine." He responded, stepping away.
"Believe me, I want to," Zelda placed her hand against his chest, feeling the thumping of his heart. "But not here." Zelda dropped her hand, and placed it in his. "Let's go, the kids are waiting." She pulled him out of the kitchen and into the Living Room, where the kids sat on the floor, a small pile of wrapped gifts in front of them. Zelda sat on the couch, Link beside her as Hunter handed her the first gift. She had barely gotten situated when Andy pressed a small rectangle wrapped in deep green and white polka-dotted into her face.
"Open this one!" He cried, leaning closer to her. Zelda took it from the boy and removed the green paper to reveal a book.
"Hyrule Legends and Myths."
She mumbled, reading the title. "Well now, this is creative." She patted Andy's head, placing the book beside her and moving on to the next gift. It was a larger box with a tag on it that read From: Hunter. She looked down at Hunter who grinned in response as she tore a line down the red paper.

Zelda laid her head back against the couch, her gifts stacked beside her.
"Wait." She said, looking up. "I didn't get anything from Cupcake." She sat up, looking down at her two kids. Two? She thought, noticing a distinct lack of a certain three year old girl. "Where is Cupcake?" She looked around for any sign of the girl's presence.
"Cupcake?!" She shouted, standing from the couch.
"Coming!" The call sounded from the stairs, followed by rapid thumping as the girl descended the stairs. She leaped off the final step and hurtled into the Living Room where, wheezing, she handed Zelda a card. It was simple, made of white card stock and with a three year old's rendition of Zelda and Cupcake together. The front read "I love u Momy!" In read marker. Zelda opened the letter and found a hastily written poem in green pencil across both sides.
My gratitude, I hardly show it.
And I'm not the best poet.
But I've got to tell you just how much you mean to me.
Your happiness is all I need to see.
When I'm my worst, you're right there.
All that hurt, just gone with the air.
You're the best mom ever.
And I'll love you forever.
Zelda read it slowly, enjoying each word. "These are some advanced words for a three year old." She said, casting a suspicious glance at Link.
"I helped her with some of it."He responded sheepishly. "But most of it was all her." Zelda looked down at her daughter, who was looking up at Zelda with a tilted head, like a curious cat.
"It doesn't matter." Zelda grabbed Cupcake and hugged her, squeezing the girl as she giggled. "I love it." Zelda grabbed her two boys, wrapping them in tight hugs as Link hugged her. "I love all of you."
