"Mooooom! It's so cold!" Andy exclaimed, shivering under his large coat.
"You'll be okay, Andy, we're almost home." Zelda answered, stuffing her cold fingers into the pockets of her blue jacket. The family had gone to the neighborhood park for a family outing with nearby extended family. They had spent hours playing the in the snow and having fun with everyone.
"Ugh! I hate the cold!" The small boy shouted, throwing his arms into the air.
"I thought you loved the cold?" Link interjected, his arm wrapped around Zelda's waist.
"I used to!" Andy spun around, staring up at his father while simultaneously walking backwards. "And then I fell in a frozen lake."
"I see how that could make you hate the cold." Link chuckled. He looked over his son's head, watching the other two kids playing in the snow of their front yard. "Why don't you go join your siblings while me and Mom keep walking.
"Why would I want to be around those bozos?!" Andy responded.
"Andy!" Zelda scolded, but before she could go on the boy began running ahead, barreling into Hunter and pinning him to the ground. Link chuckled softly and rolled his eyes.
"Crazy kids." He said, watching the two boys wrestle in the white powder. Zelda giggled softly as the pair made their way up their driveway, Link unlocking and opening the front door. Before either of them could enter the warm house, Andy ran between them, bursting into the entrance and throwing off his coat as he ran and collapsed on the couch. Zelda walked in, closely followed by Link the Hunter and finally Lil Zellie, the two kids running and piling atop Andy, who groaned in answer.
"Kids! Hang up your coats!" Zelda called to them as her and Link entered the kitchen, their coats already hung up.
"Okay, Mommy!" A high female voice called in response, soon followed by Andy's exaggerated deep breathing.
"Dinner?" Link asked her, grabbing a cookie from the glass jar.
"Mhm." Zelda crouched and opened one of the cupboards, pulling out a small binder containing many, many recipes. Link came behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist as she flipped through the recipes, reading over her shoulder. They both scanned the recipes, talking softly to each other. Eventually she found one, immediately turning towards the fridge to grab ingredients.
"Wait, are we making the left one or the right one?" Link asked, looking back and forth between her and the book.
"I am making the left one. You are leaving the kitchen to go entertain your children." Zelda walked over to him, pressed a swift kiss to his lips, then quickly ushered him out of the kitchen.
"Alright! Alright! I'm going." Link walked out of the kitchen, and Zelda turned back to where she had laid out ingredients beside the stove. As she cracked an egg into a heated pan, she heard Link's voice followed by loud child screams.
