This was supposed to go up a while ago (like the 8th) but I wasn't satisfied with some stuff so I had to re-write and change things. Enjoy!

Zelda closed the door behind them. Hearing the muffled voices of their three kids and Sheik through the wood and glass. She turned away from it to see Link, dressed nicely in a black suit and green tie. His arm was out in an invitation. Zelda looped her arm through his and let him guide her to the car. He, quite like the gentleman he was, opened her door and helped her into the vehicle. Slowly closing it behind her he crossed to his side of the car and sat into the driver's seat.

"Link, where are we going?" Zelda asked, giving him a questioning look.

"You." He said, poking her nose. "Will find out."

"Well, it's somewhere fancy considering how dressed up we are." She said, regarding his suit and the pale purple dress she wore.

"You could say that." Link grinned

"Oh my- you're Impossible." Zelda rolled her eyes as Link turned the car to drive and headed down the street towards...somewhere.

-----------------------------------

The couple made small talk as they drove, keeping conversation short. Zelda still silently racked her brain, attempting to figure out where in Hyrule they were going. But she didn't have to.

"Link, you really think I'm going to believe your advice about childcare?" Zelda scoffed.

"Hey, I'm a dad, I know what I'm doing. Most of the time." He admitted.

"Yeah, most of-". She stopped as her eyes landed on a bright, large and fancy building at the end of the street they were on. "What is that? That fancy ball?"

"Where we're headed." Link stated simply.

"Wait, what?"

"That's why we are dressed so nicely. Because we are going to a fancy ball."

"You didn't." Zelda eyed her husband suspiciously as he reached into his pocket and pulled out two small slips of card stock. She took them and looked at them.

Annual Hyrule Ball, it read. "You did!" Zelda eagerly reached over and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"I would turn so I can kiss you too, but I'm driving." Link grinned, keeping his eyes on the road. Zelda watched the large, bright building before them. She had always told Link she dreamed of attending the ball but never imagined it would actually happen.

"Why this?" Zelda asked as they approached the rather extravagant entrance.

"It's our tenth anniversary! Kinda important." Link followed the road through metal gates, following the road around a fancy fountain of three beautiful women, meant to represent the three goddesses. Zelda silently marveled at the majestic building. Bright lights shining on the white granite and clean windows. The car pulled to a halt and Zelda grinned wider as a man in a clean suit opened her door, taking her hand to help her out. As soon as the man let go, Link was beside her, his arm looped with hers. They walked up a fine set of pristine white stairs where Link handed over the two tickets to a man behind a podium and entered through huge double doors. Zelda gasped as she marveled at the lobby. A fine sliver chandelier hung from the high ceiling, shining brightly. Many statues lined the walls. Some of beautiful women, others busts of important historical figures and others Zelda didn't recognize. Many other attendees entered the large room an she watched as they flowed through another set of doors ahead into another large room. The pair followed the flow and Zelda's breath stopped short at the next room.

A brightly lit ballroom awaited them. Many people wandered and mingled around the edges of the room, mingling around large tables stacked with food and beverages. In the center of it all was the dance floor. Made of extravagant shining white stone, the floor shone and gleamed in the light of another even more impressive chandelier. Zelda felt Link guide her through the crowd, and she followed, too preoccupied marveling at the incredible room.

"Zelda." Link's voice caught her attention and she turned to look at him. He lifted a fine glass to her, filled with a bubbly, pale red liquid. She grinned and took the drink, sipping from the thin glass. It tasted wonderful, a lovely strawberry flavor enveloping her taste buds. Link smiled in return and lifted a glass of his own to his lips and surprising ungentlemanly drank the whole glass. Zelda held a laugh behind her hand and sipped her drink again. "Hmm, I'll have to ask what that is." Link placed the empty glass onto the tray of a passing waiter. Zelda rolled her eyes and finished her own drink, placing it onto another tray. "Wanna dance?" Link led her towards the edge of the crowd, the dance floor awaiting them.

"Of course." Zelda took his hand and he led her into the group of dancers, pairs stepping in time with the light orchestra playing. Link placed his hand on her hip as hers found his shoulder, her other resting in his palm. Link took a step, and Zelda followed, joining into the dancers. Zelda knew this night would be wonderful. She followed his movements, stepped as he did, flowed with him. Zelda beamed at Link and he smiled just as large.

-----------------------------------

The song finished and Zelda's feet slid to a halt. A light applaud spread throughout the room but Link just stared at her, a small smile on his lips. Zelda leaned against his chest, feeling his heart beat against her cheek. "I love you." She mumbled, barely loud enough for him to hear. Link pressed a warm kiss to her forehead and Zelda felt a blush dust her cheeks.

"I love you too." The next song started up and Link didn't miss a beat falling into rhythm with it, Zelda moving with him. She felt herself get lost in his gaze, light shining in the blue of his eyes.

They danced and danced, occasionally stopping to relax or eat but were always back on the white stone to continue their dance. Zelda loved every moment of it. Every dance, every drink that eventually Link discovered to be a fruit punch made fresh, every word she loved. And she was still in bliss when Link took her arm and guided them back out the double doors and out into the night. They walked down the steps and to the road, where the same man that helped her out of their car stood. "Ready to depart?" The man asked kindly.

"No no." Link leaned close to the man's ear, saying something Zelda couldn't make out. She saw the man grin and nod as he said something in return. Link stepped back, thanked the man and began walking down the path beside the road. Zelda quirked an eyebrow but held to his arm, keeping step with him. She stayed silent as they walked and turned around the side of the large building. She became increasingly curious until they rounded another corner and she saw their destination. An absolutely massive garden expanded before them. She saw many colorful flowers of all chairs and sizes all over the large garden. Some glowed a pale blue in the moonlight. Zelda almost fainted from the sheer beauty and Link tightened his grip on her arm to prevent her from falling.

"This is absolutely beautiful." She breathed. Link's arm slipped from around hers down so his fingers interlaced with hers. She turned to look at him and he held a purple flower, a swift violet, in his empty hand. He brought it to her hair, slipping the stem in her blonde locks and let his hand fall to cup her cheek.

"It pales in comparison to you, Zelda." A small, lovely grin on his lips. She smiled in return and leaned into his hand.

"I love you." She said softly, easily audible in the quiet of the nightly garden. Link pulled her to him, his forehead pressed to hers.

"I love you too." He said and pressed his lips to hers.
