It was a sweaty, hot, midsummer day. The longest and hottest day of the year. Alice Todhunter- Moon was still in shock. She had just become ExtraOrdinary Wizard. Her master had just gone missing, leaving only a month- blue book and his family behind. She couldnt believe Septimus had gone missing! Alice was about to go to her new rooms when she heard a sharp rap on the Wizard Tower doors. Instead of waiting for the spiral staircase tho do it's job, Alice ran as fast as she could to the first floor. When she had finally gotten to the door and opened them, there was no one there. No one but a little girl, two by the looks of it. The little girl came only with a over- sized red beanie, and a note. As soon as Alice picked the note off her, the little girl started to cry. Alice picked the girl up to soothe her. It worked. When the girl finally stopped her crying, Alice had a chance to read the note pinned to the girl. It read:
DEAR ALICE, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THIS GIRL. HER NAME IS TORRIANNE. TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY . ALICE, YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE I CAN TRUST WITH HER. THE ORPHAN HOUSE WOULD KNOW WHO SHE WOULD IMEDIETLY BE RECOGNISED. PLEASE TREAT HER AS AN ORPHAN AND GIVE HER SOME SORT OF JOB AT THE WIZARD TOWER. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU NOTICE HER MAGYKAL ABILITIES. I TRUST YOU WITH HER LIFE. GIVE TORRI A ROOM AS WELL.

"What?" Alice muttered to herself. The sun was setting and Torri was starting to cry again.
"Shhhh. I know I know. Shhhh." Alice cooed.
"Where mama? W- where mama?!" Torri whimpered through the tears and loads of curly, dirt- covered hair. Alice them then decided it best to close the doors and go up to her rooms. When they got inside, Alice ordered the spiral staircase to go up at a slower speed.
When they made it to the purple door, Alice wearily commanded it to open. She laid Torri on a purple sofa in front of the fireplace. The cracking of the fire interested Torri, maybe a little too much. So Alice had to tell Torri to stay.
"Clean." Alice said, wishing the young orphan Torri clean. When she was finally tidy. Her clothes were once again bright and her head revealed bouncy straw- colored hair.
"H-hat. I wan hat. Noooo! Dat hat! Glurgggg!" Torri happily giggled.
"Oh, that hat!" Alice pointed behind her. "Let me get that for you." She turned to grab a purple wool hat on her new bed, then, out of the corner of her eye, Alice saw the book. Not just any book. It was sparking mint- blue with gold letters and clasp. She walked over to it. The book read "The ExtraOrdinary Papers, Septimus Heap".
Torri gurgled behind Alice. She couldn't believe it, Septimus left this book today, the same day he disappeared and Torri showed up at the Wizard Tower.
"No," thought Alice, "it can't be." Alice looked at Torri. She knew she was right, maybe? Could these three things be connected?
