Third Person's POV:
The third Hokage watched as his friend Minato Namikaze and his wife Kushina Uzumaki sacrificed their lives in order to once again contain the Nine Tailed Fox. Slowly but surely it was going to be sealed away within the body of their newborn child, Naruto Uzumaki. But then.... The great beast spoke seemingly shocking us all.
"So I'm getting locked away again? Fine, but you should be warned. Soon she will wake up, and when she does she won't be too happy with any of our current states. Our mother will kill you." He growled before collapsing slightly and then... he was gone. Naruto's crying being the only sound that resonated within the clearing. That beasts words resonated within his skull.
'Our Mother'? I suppose it wasn't too shocking that these beasts had a mother. But.... if there truly was a being still out there that was the parent to these beasts was frightening in itself. But if it was roaming around.... Then where was it? Had it been sealed away long ago? Was it in some kind of hibernation? Or has it possibly just been hiding, watching, waiting. But then surely its chakra would have been noticed already and all of the Great nations would therefore be attempting to contain it.
Either way, there was only one thing to focus on. And that was the repair of the partially destroyed village and Naruto, the new jinchuriki for the nine tailed fox. But it would have been a lie that those words didn't haunt the Third Hokage. Nevertheless, he was going to search for answers and if it meant finding the location of this beast and making sure it never escapes then so be it.
~12 Years Later~ Third Hokage's POV:
It's been 12 long years since that night. And for 12 years I searched and searched for what the tailed beasts seemed to call their mother. No evidence of its existence could be found anywhere. I've searched records and documents for anywhere I could get them from. Various shrines and spoken to many priests who had information about their understanding of the sage of six paths when he split the ten tails into the 9 separate beasts we have today but not even they knew of the mother it spoke of.
Perhaps this mother truly wasn't even a real entity. Perhaps I really was just overthinking the matter. Sighing I sat back against my desk chair beginning to smoke my pipe as I stared at all the papers I have collected over the years containing notes and information on the origins of the tailed beasts. The only people to actually know of my research were only two of my anbu whom I found to be incredibly trustworthy. One being Kakashi Hatake and the other whom lost his life about 4 years ago on a mission.
Upon hearing a knock at the door I sighed before calling them in. Upon the door opening, Kakashi entered the room with his hands dug in his pockets with his hands deep in his pockets.
"What can I do for you Kakashi?" I questioned.
"I just came to tell you the team 7 has passed their final test. I figured you should know considering I have Naruto on my team." Kakashi explained.
I simply nodded as I attempted to rub the sleep out of my eyes. Kakashi stood in front of me as he gazed down at all the notes and documents but before he could begin to ask about them a knock came to my office door. Sighing I sat up and began to straighten up my desk placing all my notes in a neat stack and allowed them entry. Izumo, one of the gate guards, poked his head into the room but not fully step into it.
"Uh, I'm sorry to disturb you my lord, but.... Uh Kotetsu and I found someone approach the gate." Izumo answered lowly.
He seemed to constantly look behind him and was trying to keep his voice low and soothing for some reason. Which made me quite curious.
