The trees loomed over me as I walked alone alongside this dusty path to my house. It was pitch black and I could barely see a thing. I squinted my eyes and brushed a fern out of my sight.
The forest scent reaches my nose, and I inhale the woodsy smell deeply. Birds in mid-flap, foxes just now poking their heads out of their dens, leaves rustling in the slight breeze, were just I few of things I smelled.
Nothing different from before.
I enter my dump of a house and close the door behind me and I head to my bed and lay down. I put my head in between my hands.
I ran my list of truths through my head.
'I am Jerome Aceti. I am nineteen. I live alone because I am an outcast and nobody loves me. I am a man of the Bac, but maybe I am not worthy of that title anymore... I am gay. My parents killed themselves because they didn't want a son that was different from the others... Maybe it's best if I just...go.'
For a while I let sobs of depression pulsate and get stronger.
Nobody loves me.
Nobody cares.
But I must live on...for what?
That was the real question.
I've had enough of this.
I head to the kitchen and pull out a brand-new knife. I held it millimeters from my skin. I almost put the steel blade to my skin, but I stopped.
Stopped because I knew that someone wouldn't like what I was about to do.
But who?
I set the knife down, on the counter. I headed to the fridge, and opened it.
Just some wet noodles...
I groaned in disgust and shut the fridge door. I grabbed my axe and went out of my house and into the wooded forest.
I went a little off trail, but not much. I climb up a tree with ease, since I've shimmied up them so much. I lie in wait, on a branch twenty feet up, for an unsuspecting animal to pass through. Through the darkness, I see a small deer and I hold my breath. My hand on the handle, I pull it out of my belt loops and aim towards the deer's head.
It lifted its head and looked me straight in the eyes.
I threw the axe.
The deer's body fell to the ground with a THUD.
Looks like I will be eating for once.
Rejoicing silently with joy, I jumped to the ground and rolled, as to not break my legs. I then walk over to the deer's body.
Dang it. I killed Bambi.
I grab my axe and pull it from the doe's head. There is blood spattered all over the face of my shinning weapon.
I grab a few leaves from a nearby spruce and wipe off the blood. Soon, after much rubbing, the axe is stain free.
I insert it back into my belt loops and drag my prize to my house.

After much heaving, I finally have the doe on my kitchen table, ready to eat. As I chow down on the little meat I allowed myself to eat, I hear a snapping noise from outside. I disregard it after a few seconds pause and I go back to eating.
SNAP!
There it was again!
Thinking it was nothing, I head outside.
The sun is starting to rise and the hues of orange and reds colliding together fascinate me. I saw how they rolled and tussled in the sky, and the colors made me ache. But suddenly, I am so tired, I can barely make it from my doorstep to my bed. I fall on my bed, unaware of the other presence in my room.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How was that for a first chapter? Do you like it? Hope so:) :D
