The Guardian

March 3rd, 2026

     I didn't wake up until an hour before my ceremony, which was set to coincide with the rising of the blood moon, my name sake, Sanguinem Luna, or blood moon in latin. I woke up 3 years ago today during the blood moon. So the Order of the Moon gave me the name Sanguinem Luna. I got my white uniform on and hurried to the ceremony hall. In there the ritual table was set up on a riased platform, along with a table holding different potion ingredients. I shivered a little thinking how cold that table would be. I would have to lie on the table and they would name me, and then my spirit animal would appear. I stood off to the side of the hall and watched as it slowly filled up. This is the first promotion ceremony in almost 20 years, because magicians of our strength and talent are very rare. Everyone was excited and hyped for it. Once the hall was filled, Morgan began to speak:
     "Magicians, we have come together to recognize Sanguinem Luna for completing her 3 year apprenticeship.  As you all know, Saguinem has been our only apprentice in the 20 years, so to name her a Guardian is a great honor. Sanguinem Luna, please step forward to be named," I took a deep breath in and steped onto the stage where Morgan was standing in front of the ceremony table. I bowed in respect and stripped skyclad, the layed on the table.
     "What is your name Apprentice?" Morgan asked me.
     "Aurora Frost," I answered without hesitation.
     "Aurora Frost, Guardian of the Earth realm, slayer of demons, born under the blood moon, is your name," Morgan recided and drew a red circle on my forehead to represent the blood moon. A light flashed above me and a raven appeared in front of a blood moon. The magicians in the crowd gasped in awe. Almost no one had a raven as a spirit animal. I dozed off as Morgan said some other things and she shook me awake and as I stood everyone clapped and cheered. As I put my new black and purple uniform on I was spwept up in parties and talking and as soon as I got to my room I fell on my floor and fell into a deep sleep.
