"We are finally home, longest car ride ever," Xian Complained.

"Okay, I'll agree with you this time, Xian," I said.

I looked around and pinch me I think I'm dreaming but, is that old blue in the neighbor's drive. I shook my head confused as all get out. Then I saw Jace, he walked to old blue opened truck door and grabbed a giant teddy bear.

I heard him say. " Sky will love this can't wait to see her next year."

"Jace!" I screamed.

"Sky!?" He questioned himself but also in shock.

I ran and tackled him he lift me up twirling me around.

That when I overheard Zach say, " We should have told them."

" Yes, you butt the head." I turned and paused, "Jace, go get your swimsuit and we will go swimming at my house."

"Okay, babe." He said.

We hugged and he kissed my forehead, once we broke I ran to my suitcase and ran into the house.

"Hi, honey?" Mom questioned.

"Hi!" I said quickly slamming my door shut.

I quickly unpack and get my swimsuit on and put my hair up into a ponytail.

"Slow down honey, what's the rush?". My mom asked me.

"Oh, sorry mom." I paused rubbing my neck. "The next door neighbor boy is my boyfriend and he is coming swimming."

"Have fun sweetheart." She said.

"I will!" I yell as opened the door.

I ran outside ended up running into Jace. My face ended up turning a deep dark red, we both laughed as he set me back on my feet. I ran to the pool Jace followed behind, once I reached the edge of the pool I jumped in. Jace followed behind me. Me being aka "Waterbug" opened my eyes underwater despite all the chlorine. I looked at Jace whose eyes were squinted and cheeks inflated with air. I pushed hum up as I swam up. Putting goggles on his head I smiled as I dunked him underwater again. I grabbed his hand as we swam under the cool water dogging the sun's harsh heat. After a minute or so we swam up, and I hopped on the aired up pool chair and closed my eyes. After about ten or so minutes I heard rushing footsteps and the person behind it eager to say something. I opened my eyes and mediately closed them. It was Xian, he always finds something old on the Internet thinking it's new so I don't worry about what he has to say during summer. So I tend to say ahu, or yes because I don't care.

Throwing an inflatable ball at me Xian yelled. " Skylar!"

"What was that for!" I rose my voice

"I knew you were planning on not listening to me. I had to do something!!" He screamed.

After a while of silence "Well what is it!!"

" There was another Amber Alert for a 9-year-old girl while you and Jace were trying to act cool, fyi ya not that cool." Xian Said.

I look at Jace and he looks back me. Terror filled our eyes as we imagined going back into the Red Wood forest, how I almost died I could tell Jace wanted to have a panic attack right there in the pool. I looked at Jace and reassured him I would not end up in the hospital this time.

" I came so close to losing you, Skylar..." He stopped talking to fight back the tears.

"Jace, I will be careful I promise, I will not die on you but this is a 9-year-old girl we can't leave her to die please Jace," I begged him

Giving in he said. "Fine, but I need to stay with you where ever you go. Okay?"

"Okay, I'm gonna go get the rest of the family," I say

"Same here," Jace said.

We quickly hopped out of the pool, dragging Xian along with me. I ran into the house and into my room to change. When I finally noticed no one but Xian and me were in the house I ran outside and saw my family talking and having a good old time like there wasn't an Amber Alert. Then I remembered seeing their phones on the table.

" Ahem," I paused "Work calls back in the car guys."

"But you just got here sweetheart."  Mom said.

"I know mom but work is work, and lately the department has been treating us like crap because they think teenagers can't  be in the Police Department and this will gain us major respect over their."  I said

"Honey, Sidney, she will be okay and look she has a gift and they need her and she's an adult I know your worried but the boys are with her." My dad jumps in.

I nod at dad saying thanks he nods back but gives me a serious look. The spoke to me as you god damm be coming back fine as you left. I nodded and my brothers got up and ran inside and started packing thank god I was done.

I gave my parents a hug and said I need too put my stuff in Jace's truck."

"Why don't you ride with your brothers sweetheart?" Mom asked.

"I get bad anxiety when this stuff happens and so dose Jace I need to be with him." I paused. " He watched me die for a minute mom."

"Okay darling." Mom said.

I ran to old blue and put my stuff in Jace met me their. Then my phone had got sent a group text.

PCW- Did you guys get the Amber Alert?
S-Of coarse Chief. We are on our way me and Jace are in old blue.
PWC- Make sure to turn on police lights so you can get here quicker.
S-Jace just did we are on the highway and he just started flooring it.
Z- So is Xian thanks Chief I'm scarred now.
