Penny's POV//
Since the weekend was over, I had to return to the halls of Hazel's school. Period one, two and three flew by. Lunch came along. I was going to sit by myself. But, Sapphire and Garnet wanted me to sit next to them. I hesitated but, I sat in front of them. My relationship with Sapphire and Garnet wasn't exactly great. We never got along.
"Where's Hazel?", "Is she okay?". I was questioned rapidly by Garnet. Whereas Sapphire just sat there. Emotionless. She was staring at the window behind me. I turned my head, my eyes widening at the sight of Luke. I turned back to the girls and shook it off thinking I was hallucinating.
Sapphire kept staring at the window. It was very off putting. I was concentrating on Garnet and Sapphire. Right now, Sapphire honestly looks ghostly. As white as a bedsheet. I turned my head again and he was there. Watching. Almost like he was waiting.
Lunch was over. Instead of heading to math class I took a different route. A route that lead me straight to the courtyard where Luke was. He's still there. This time facing where I had entered the courtyard. "What do you think you're playing at?" I demanded an answer.
"Don't you get it, Penny?" He said, his voice had some sort of tone in it. "Get what?" I crossed my arms. "Oh, Penny.", He chuckled, "Don't you understand?" He was a foot away from me now. "Penny, Penny, Penny..." He was smiling madly and walking around me in a circle. Almost intimidating.
He was right behind me. Inches away. He grabbed me by the scruff if my collar. "Penny you're supposed to take the blame. You see, I need you away from Hazel so my plan can fall into place. Her emo boyfriend is enough to deal with. Y'know, it is common sense. If Daisy thought about it, he'd understand that Hazel got up in the middle of the night. In her drunken state and fell onto the road whilst walking across it. But, that's not what happened." His gripped tightened.
"Daisy was just supposed to think that. What really happened was: Pharoah snuck in through the patio doors. Hazel wasn't asleep. So, Pharoah stopped Hazel from screaming. Took her outside and waited for a passing car. Then Pharoah pushed her and booked it. It was fatal. Hazel has a ninety-eight percent chance of waking up with amnesia. Meaning I can act like her real dad and Pharoah can act like her real mum. She won't remember you, nor Daisy." He smiled wickedly, whispering in my ear.
"Now. I need you to take the blame. Get your ass back to Australia or you won't be the only one that mysteriously disappears." He chuckled, breathing on my neck. I escaped from his grasp, turning around and kicking him where it hurts. "I'm not going anywhere!" I yelled. He looked up at me, doubled over in pain.
He was back on his feet. "Oh really? Penny, just leave whilst you still can." He went to grab my wrists. But, I moved my arms backwards. Possibly over dramatically. I noticed Bristol behind Luke. I hope he heard all of that. "Who's gonna make me leave? Certainly not you!" I said. I do believe I'm pushing my luck now.
"Penny. Its life or death. More specifically, Its life or death for Hazel." He smiled, ear-to-ear.
