Chapter 1

"But I like you"

I knew I wasn't the only one that stopped believing that Kyle really meant that whenever he said it to Audrey. But Audrey was so caught up in her own world in which, a guy, a 'hot' one, actually liked her. Oh, young love. They don't always realize that it actually doesn't exist at this age, it's simply just puppy love.

Kyle Hernandez. The apparent "good boy" in this situation, the one who didn't mess up their relationship. He finally got the guts to ask Audrey out after they broke up last year. I applaud him, and of course Audrey said yes. We were all suspecting that. I'm not going to lie, she could be quite stupid when it came to boys. When ever he was around she acted like a lovesick puppy. But was she very observant? Nope.

Rebecca Carr. Kyle was all over Rebecca. He was constantly with her, driving her home, watching her sports practices, becoming lab partners and who knows what's been going on between them over text.

"But I like you!" Kyle screamed at Audrey.

Audrey's face filled with rage as her vision got blurry from the tears forming in her eyes, "And Rebecca!" Audrey screamed back.

"That's not true! Why can't you understand that? I want you, not Becca!" Kyle shouted, getting closer and closer to Audrey until they were inches apart. Audrey pushed Kyle away and flung her arms in the air as she screamed liar loud enough for anyone in the building to hear.

"I see you two have nicknames now, huh," Audrey scoffed, getting angrier by the second "You think I don't know! You think I'm so in love with you that I don't know! You're a son of a bitch that needs to grow up! I knew this wouldn't work because you're an idiot that doesn't know love if it hit you in the face! Go dig your own grave asshole!" She shouted with a satisfying huff at the end. She trudged away leaving a confused and pissed off Kyle still in the hallway wondering to himself what had just happened.

"Audrey!" Rebecca called after Audrey.

"You need to stay away from me" Audrey said coldly, not even turning her head to face Rebecca, just simply standing in place.

Audrey was quiet the rest of the day. Not uttering a word to anyone. She was guarded, which was understandable after the scene that had just happened in the hallway.

Kyle sat rows behind her tapping his pencil repetitively on his desk, biting his fingernails as he stared at Audrey who refused to turn around and meet his gaze.

"Did you hear what happened?" Isaac whispered to his friend beside him, Marc.

"Yeah man, shit went down" Marc replied over exaggerating the 'down'.

"Damn Kyle is going crazy" Isaac said pointing at Kyle.

"But it's his fault, he should feel bad. They've only been dating like two weeks and it's already over" Marc laughed.

"But he got that hot Rebecca chic" Isaac defended.

"We both know it's not that hard, I mean she spreads her legs for anyone with a beating heart and identifies as male," Marc trailed off.

Isaac and Marc both widen their eyes at each other before they both burst out laughing causing the lesson to come to a pause. The whole class stared at them and wondered what could be so funny. The two boys kept laughing and nearly fell out of their seats while an enraged

Kyle and a teary eyed Audrey tried to assume what they were laughing about.

Audrey turned and faced the front again, and placed her chin on her hand in one swift motion.

"I'm so done" Audrey murmured underneath her breath before she packed up all her stuff and left the room the second the bell rang through the speakers.

Audrey left as Kyle was trying to pack his bag as quickly as he could in order to catch up with her. He saw her leave the room and dropped his bags and ran after her. He pushed people aside as he raced down the staircase in order to get to Audrey who was almost out of the building by now.

"Audrey!" Kyle shouted when he saw her by the doors. Audrey slowly turned around with a pained expression on her face after seeing Kyle racing down the stairs.

"Look I'm sorry" he simply said as he approached her.

"For what exactly?" Audrey said shrugging angrily.

"I don't think this," he said gestured at the space between us, "is going to work. It's not you it's me...and Becca. I'm starting to catch feelings for her. She's just...different" Kyle trailed off "I'm sorry"

"It's fine. So, I guess this is it then," Audrey said as her eyes started to well up with tears. She pushed the doors open and tried to put up a calm facade as she walked out of the building.

Little did Kyle know that he had just broke someone's heart. And to make it worse, today was Audrey's birthday. They were supposed to spend the entire day together. I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon.

A little birdy told me that Becca and Kyle are a thing now. I guess we'll see soon enough, won't we.

The next day at school I heard nothing more than murmurs and whispers throughout the hallways, names like Rebecca and Kyle popping up and an occasional Audrey.

Audrey slowly walked through the hallway as her happy self again talking to almost everyone she passed.

The whole hallway went silent and Audrey slowly turned her head to the entrance door to see Rebecca and Kyle walking in, but far apart from one another. As soon as all eyes were on them both of them smirked and winked at the crowd before they both dropped their books that were currently in their hands but put their arms around each other before Rebecca planted a kiss on Kyle's lips.

Even I knew this couple won't be any good for anyone.
