forgive but can't forget

i remember the night of our first kiss like it was just yesterday,

you pulled me close and told me i was your greatest blessing

and kissed me like you were hungry for my touch.

i remember the night of our last kiss like it was just two weeks ago,

sitting in your truck in my driveway, holding onto the moment like it was our last breath.

i didn't want to leave.

i knew you didn't want me to leave either.

because we knew that moments like that came around once in a blue moon.

they were rare and beautiful and whenever we share a moment like that,

i never forget it.

i looked at you and asked for one more.

one more kiss for the sake of not knowing if there would ever be another.

but there's always another.

and that's why we're so dangerous.
