Small time skip

Austin.

It has been two months since me and Carson met, one month since we made it official.

I still haven't gotten a DNA test on Aj.

Carson has been telling me to go do it, but I don't know if I'm ready yet.

"Austin, the longer you wait, the more attached you will get. If he isn't yours, that would crush you. Please just go do it" Carson said over the phone while I changed Aj's diaper.

"I know, I know. I'll make an appointment for next week or something" I assure her.

"Promise"

"I promise, now go back to work. I'll see you tonight" I chuckled.

"Alright, bye Austin."

She hung up before I could mutter my farewell. I scooped AJ into my arms and then set him down on the couch.

He still hasn't learned to sit up on his own so I always sit him in the corner with a small pillow in front of him.

I went on my computer and quickly set up an appointment at my usual hospital for a DNA test sometime next week.

I closed my laptop after I was finished and set it on the small table next to the couch.

"You guys want some ice cream?" I offered the girls and Robert.

We were babysitting for Carson and Noah because we both had a day off.

"Yes!" The girls shouted as rob shrugged.

I grabbed AJ and we all walked out of the house, locking it after I walked out.

We took Robert's truck since mine couldn't fit all of us.

After we had all of the car seats in the car and all of the kids buckled up, we drove to the nearest ice cream parlor.

The girls cheered as we pulled into the parking lot. I laughed at their excitement and got out of the car.

I put AJ in the stroller I bought a few weeks ago and held Bella's hand. Robert took both of the twins' hands and walked them to the entrance.

We ordered our ice cream and walked outside to let the kids play on the small play set in the back.

I took AJ out of his seat and sat him on my lap.

His small little hands landed in my ice cream as soon as I did so.

I grinned, watching him put his fingers in his mouth.

When he was done, he tried to grab my ice cream again.

He began to cry when I wouldn't let him.

I finally gave in and handed it to him, still holding it myself.

He put his mouth on it then immediately removed it.

His mouth started to smack, I'm guessing because it was too cold.

I laughed and wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"Ow"

I looked over to see belly on the ground, holding her knee.

I quickly got up and ran over to her.

I handed my ice cream to Robert and knelt down to examine her knee.

I saw a small scratch on it and a red hue forming around it.

"It hurts" she whined.

"Ok, I think it's time to go. We'll take care of it at the house."

I picked her up and held her on my hip and walked her over to the bench me and Robert were previously on.

I set her down on the bench while I buckled AJ up in the stroller.

I picked her back up and pushed the stroller with one hand.

Robert finished his ice-cream and I told him to just throw mine away.

We all make it back to the truck after getting some ice and wrapping it in some napkins for Belly.

When we got home, I placed a band aid on belly's knee and allowed them to play for the rest of the night.
