Hey everyone hope yall are enjoying the story.

By the time we arrived home my dad was no longer in a good mood. The young grey filly had been nothing but trouble trying to load onto the trailer with the other horses. She had lashed out and actually bit one of the men trying to help my dad. He didn't even try to force the filly to unload into the barn he simply backed into the tall wood round pen and opened the gate to the horse trailer. All we saw was a flash of silver and the young filly was out of the trailer running and bucking circling the round pen. I slammed the gate behind her , as my mom and siblings approached the round pen slowly." What in the world Ben ?" My mom gasped. My dad wrapped his arm around my mother and shook his head. " She has great bloodlines dear . Im gonna let Khloe work and train her to see if she can turn her into something since she has that special touch." he stated. I smiled at my dad proud at his compliment. " But Khloe you are gonna have to be extra careful with this mare . She has not been raised with kindness like the horses you have worked with and rode before on the track. All she has seen is hardness and brutality." he lectured. " Yes sir ." I nodded.

My dad hugged my mom , and motioned for us kids to get to our chores. Life on a farm chores seemed never ending. " Khloe you and Noel come help me unload the other horses." he stated . My dad backed the trailer in front of the barn and we got to work unloading the horses. Noel still was carrying a frown on her face the entire time we worked getting the horses settled. We stalled the broodmares in the stalls on the right side of the aisle , and young horses on the left. After stalling Noel and I were in the loft throwing hay into each shoot to feed the horses in their hay racks. She had been mumbling the whole time , and I had been ignoring it until out of nowhere I heard her say something that hit me hard." Khloe ....gets whatever she wants."

Finally fed up I threw the layer of hay I was holding down as hard as I could. " For your information I don't get whatever I want Noel . " I yelled. She gaped at me with wide eyes , before rage filled her face. " Khloe you are daddy's little girl. I had to leave all my friends , my life , everything just because dad couldn't just be content with training horses . Then he gets you his special girl a crazy horse!!" she exclaimed." Ugh Noel you are so wrapped up in feeling sorry for yourself you wont give this place a chance." I stated. " What is all that yelling up there? Quit arguing and finish feeding those horses" my dad called up to the loft. Noel gave me a death glare before turning back to feeding the horses. I did the same and once we finished Noel stomped up to the house , and I made my way down to the round pen.

I pulled my way up onto a sitting position on the railing of the pen . The mare stood off on the other side of the pen snorting and wide eyed." I guess I should think a nickname up for you pretty girl."I stated. " Your registered name is Steele Magnolia." The young filly rolled her eyes pinning her ears and stood up on her back legs rearing straight up in the air. I laughed at her antics, and stepped down onto the dirt into the pen. I didn't intend to approach her , I just wanted to let her get used to my presence. She was so beautiful with her silver mane and tail blowing in the wind , and her grey dappled coat shining like Steal. I gasped . " That is what I am gonna call you girl. You are gonna be known as Steele." I declared. The filly wouldn't approach me which was fine , so I took out my iPod and blasted my favorite song wild horse by raelynn.

I closed my eyes and leaned back against the fence tapping my foot to the beat of the music. A small nicker caused me to open my eyes and standing just a few feet in front of me was Steele . Her ears were pricked forward , and I longed to rub her nose. But i new for know getting used to my presence without running away was going to be the first step towards trust between us. Heavy footsteps approached us and I knew it was my dad. Steel rolled her eyes and snorted loudly ,before running back to the other side of the round pen. I slowly pulled myself up out of the pen and slid down next to my father. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and smiled." You know Khloe if you ever get that filly to trust you she is going to be one amazing athlete." he declared. I nodded already knowing in my heart she was going to be.
