"Ryan! I found someone! I think they're hurt!" The girl ran through the hole used as a door and gently placed Hypatia down on the table. Out of nowhere, a much taller, extremely muscular man with jet black hair falling over half of his emerald green eye stumbled in, knocking over a pot. Thankfully, the pot fell on a patch of grass growing from the floor. The girl raised an eyebrow, clutching the pot in her hand.
"What did ya say?" He slurred, leaning his hand on the doorframe.
"Ryan, are you... drunk?" She asked, placing the pot back. The man walked behind her and snaked his hands around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Nah nah, baby doll, I'm perfectly fine." She sighed, removing his arms and pushing him back slightly.
"You're drunk. "Baby doll" can smell it." The girl walked back over to Hypatia and placed a hand on her forehead. "If you can manage, at least get some water?" He grunted, leaving the room. The girl rolled her eyes, looking back down at Hypatia. "Where'd you come from?" As if she could hear her, Hypatia's eyes fluttered open. She immediately sat up and began coughing. The girl rubbed her back, soothing her. "You alright?" Hypatia looked around, dazed.
"Where... Where am I? Where's Mum and Dad?" She looked at the girl beside her. "Who are you...?" The girl smiled softly.
"I'm Bri. I found you just outside our house. You looked very unwell." Hypatia cocked her head slightly.
"Is someone else here...?" Bri smiled. "Yes. His name is-" She was interrupted by the sudden sound of glass shattering. "Ryan!" Bri yelled, standing up. The man, who Hypatia assumed was Ryan, staggered in with a cup of water in his hands. Bri quickly ran over and grabbed it before he spilled it. She walked back to Hypatia without another word. word. Ryan grumbled under his breath.
"Welcome." Bri looked up, facing forward.
"Do you wanna sleep on the floor?" He raised his hands in surrender as he staggered back out. Bri sighed, looking back at Hypatia. "Thirsty?" Hypatia slowly nodded, gripping the cup in both hands. She kept her eyes down as she took small sips. "Do you know where your parents are?" She sadly shook her head. Bri frowned, looking outside as darkness began to blanket the land. "Well, you're welcome to stay here as long as you want." Hypatia stopped drinking to give her a half smile. "You know, you're lucky I found you before someone else did. The forest is dangerous to go out in alone." Hypatia frowned and looked down. Bri suddenly grabbed a nearby blanket and placed it over Hypatia. "Well, you should go to sleep now. It's pretty late. We'll figure this out in the morning." Hypatia nodded and placed the cup down. Bri smiled again and got up. "Goodnight."
"... Goodnight..." Hypatia whispered, pulling the blanket over her entirely.  She heard a small laugh as Bri closed her bedroom door. Hypatia slowly closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
