"Kelly Bamburen you get over here right now!" My mom yelled using my full name giving me the hint that I'm busted. I'm sitting on the ground in the back corner of my room between my bed and the wall. It was a tight fit, but I managed a way to fit between the two boundaries.

My mom is mad at me, because she probably found out I ditched school again. I tell my parents I'm walking to school, but I never go. I guess you could call me a math genius. I always get picked on and I already know everything. So what's the point on going then?

"Kelly!" my mom started to yell and stomp down the hallway. I scurried to my feet and flung the switch to unlock my window. I yanked the window up and flung my body out the window. I closed the window behind, and started to run as fast as I could. Even if I was running past our drive way I could still hear my mom curse.

My mom loves me, but my parents always fight. They were just fighting thirty minutes ago which probably put her in a bad mood which will last for the rest of the day. I might even go to school tomorrow so she won't be so angry.

I let my legs carry me past the end of our neighborhood and I climbed over the no trespassing fence. My legs started to burn so I started to walk knowing that my mother has no idea where I am.

I looked around my surroundings. I love coming here. There is a small lake and a lot of trees scattered everywhere, but this is not my destination. I zigzagged around the tall, dark green trees and hiked up a rocky hill to my destination I desired the most.

It was a meadow filled with tall grass and little flowers. Sometimes there is a deer grazing, but besides the deer this place is all mine. The trees act as a border and it looks like the meadow that goes on forever. I take in a big breath before I roll down in the grass and look up at the beautiful blue sky. I take in a deep breath and let it out before closing my eyes and daydream in my safe haven.

After the sun started to set I got up and started to walk slowly home. As much as I love to watch the sunset it just wasn't a good time to be late to come home.

I finally made it home and opened the door only to find my mom and dad sitting on the sofa staring at me with harsh glares.

"Honey we need to talk." My mom said while breaking eye contact. My dad was still in his work clothes and looks worn out. On the other hand my mom looks like she had too much makeup on and a fancy outfit on.

"We just want the best for you. I don't feel like running away from your problems is going to help." She explained, but I cut her short and started to walk to my room. I slammed the door shut and started to hear my parents fight again. My dad was yelling about being to hard on me and my mom ended up crying as usual. My dad would leave the house and my mom will have a bad mood and watch TV all day.

I sat down on my bean bag chair and stared at the map filled with pins on places I want to live or visit behind my door. I usually picked places to be as far away as home. There is even a pin to go to the smack damn middle of some random place in Antarctica. I live in Oregon so when there is a clear sky like today it's a sight to see. I kept starring at the map trying to decide where to put my last pin in. I already had one in Japan, Africa, and even Greenland. I already had a pin for Hawaii but if you were like me there would be a pin on every all the islands. Might as well do nothing or all.

I let out a sigh before I got up and started to pick out an outfit for tomorrow. I went with just light washed jeans with a tare in one knee and a hoodie. It's starting to get cold because winter is just around the corner. I'm hoping I will still be able to make it to my safe hide out area when it snows. It doesn't seem like anything is getting better so for sure I will be using it a lot more.

A loud slam pulled me out of my thoughts. It must have been my mom or dad leaving out of anger.

I started to pick up my dirty laundry on the floor and organized the stuff on top of my small desk. I walked out and made myself a cup of tea that was honeybush vanilla herbal flavor tea that was just right for the cold weather. While I drank my tea, and I started to finish my homework assignment. My English teacher gave me the assignment last week but I asked for extra time to finish it. My teacher wanted us to find out what the meaning of love is after the class read Romeo and Juliet. I was one of the students who finished first. I still remember when I sat up in the trees when it was still hot and I would read all day.

When I still couldn't come up with anything I finished my tea and shoved the assignment back in my folder before putting it in my backpack by the door.

I walked back to my room and got in my pjs and pushed my straight medium length dark brown hair. I checked in the mirror to see if I looked okay before I went to bed. I had a normal figure and had brown eyes to match my hair.

Before I could change my mind I grabbed the scissors from my desk and decided to give myself a small hair cut. I made myself some side bangs that actually ended up looking good. I placed the scissors back and picked up all the thin strands of my hair off the ground before going to bed. I didn't check who was gone and who was still here. I just pulled the covers over my body and hope that tomorrow will be a better day.
