I found myself waking up to my mom shaking my body lightly. Her hand had a slight grasp on my shoulder. I blinked a couple times before I could focus a little more making my eyesight clear.

"Sweetie it's time for school," I groaned and pulled the covers over my face.

"If you hurry I can give you a ride so you don't have to walk." Instantly I got out of bed. My mom seemed satisfied that I was up and left my room.

I looked through my clothes picking out a lace top that was warm paired up with a knitted cardigan for the cold weather. I picked my dark washed jeans and my favorite little booties with a small buckle. I decided to straighten my hair. Even though it was already straight I wanted to get that soft silky look. I applied some makeup and started to pack a mini breakfast to eat in the car on the way to school.

"It's time to go!" My mom yelled as I heard her open the garage door. I grabbed my backpack and made sure I had everything I need for today before getting in the car. My mom just drives around in a SUV. I am 17, but we can't afford to get another car for myself.

"Why bangs?" My mom says when she stops at a red light. She turned her body to face me and gave me a hard glare. I realized I forgot to tell her about my haircut I gave myself. I lifted my hand up to brush my side bangs to the side out of my face a little. I finished chewing a granola bar I packed before answering her.

"Something new I guess?" I think my mom could tell I was getting nervous and her face seemed to relax a little.

"Next time can you please not cut you hair." I gave her a slight nod before I looked out my window. We live more out in the country side so everything is spaced out. Green hills full of lush dark green grass covered a lot of the open land. Far off there are tall mountains that will soon have snow sprinkled on them. My geography teacher explained to us that there was an ocean on the other side of the tall mountains. I have never seen an ocean before.

"Kelly? You can get out now." I didn't notice that my mom stopped at the corner of the school. I pulled my eyes off the mountains and scanned the lot to see if I could spot out anyone I knew. I managed to spot out Eva because of her height. I opened the door and put my backpack on one of my shoulders. I slammed the door and adjusted my top before walking over to Eva. I looked back to find my mom already driving away. When I approached Eva she had a worried look on her face. I soon noticed a group of guys on the side of the building all crowded in a tight circle. I started to pick up the pace and grab Eva's arm. When I got to the group of guys I noticed Robbie in the center. He had a look of defeat written all over his face. I noticed that the Zayn guy I tutor sometimes for math was part of this group and another guy that I recognized he usually hung out with. The other two guys that tagged along I never seen before. I wonder where the other three guys they hung out with went.

"Who are the other three guys besides Zayn?" I questioned Eva as we stood off to the side.

"I think his name is Liam, we have PE together. The other two guys are Mathew and Brian." She pointed them out for me so I knew which one was which.

We stopped talking when I heard Robbie moan in pain. I flinched and felt my blood run cold. I started to walk towards the opening between Zayn and Mathew. I shoved through and stood in front of Robbie.

"Awww look who came to your rescue. To bad the bitch can't pertect you." I think it was Mathew who said it. Before I can smart mouth him back I felt a sharp sting on the side of my cheek. I screamed in pain not expecting the harsh contact and pain rush to my skin. I felt myself get shoved against the wall of the building. I looked up to meet eyes with Liam.

"It's time to pay for your behavior." Liam said lowering is voice hissing into my ear. I started to cry and saw Eva rushing in with three other guys that weren't here before. I frantically looked around to see where Robbie was. His nose was bleeding but he was held back from Brian and Mathew from trying to help me. A curly brown hair boy pushed Liam to the side and started to yell at him. The curly haired boy called the guy who was comforting Eva, "Louis" to help with their other friend that was being a bully to Robbie.

I flinched when I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I looked up and to find a pair of breath taking blue eyes. It was the blond haired guy that I bumped into yesterday. His finger grazed my shoulder and started to rub small circles. I knew he was trying to help but I couldn't hold in the pain, fear, anger, and emberasment. My makeup is probably smeared and my face must be red. Hopefully the hit I received didn't mark my face too much. I looked down wishing I was in my safe haven right now. I felt the blond boy's finger slightly trace his fingers starting from where my neck and jaw bone connect to the tip on my chin. he slightly tilted my face up and looked at me in the eyes. I avoided eye contact with him feeling a little awkward.

"Kelly....please look at me." He sighed in relief when I looked at him and saw a small grin. Except his grin was washed away after her started to study my face. Whoever hit me in the face probably left a red mark leading to bruising by now. I noticed when he looked at me his jaw clenched and anger filled his eyes. Another tear slipped away from my eye that I have been trying to hold back. Instead of the tear falling to the ground or soaking my shirt he brought his hand up to my face to wipe it away. I flinched right before he could make contact with my skin. hurt filled his eyes and he stood back.

"Did you really thing I was going to hurt you?!" He seemed angry but soon I realized pain was filled in his voice. I didn't answer him.

"Kelly?" I turned my head to find the nearest exit. I guess the no ditching plan is not going to happen. I bolted running full speed off campus. My backpack was hitting against my back. when I was already around the corner heading towards the direction of my save haven I heard someone behind me.

I started to run faster. I will not let the person find out about my hide out. I turned a sharp corner and the concrete path became gravel. I turned too fast and lost my footing and with the weight of my backpack pulling me down I slipped and started to fall. I rolled down the small grass hill.

"Kelly!" I heard someone yell. I look up for once to find the blond guy running fast to catch up to me. I looked at my right knee finding my pants with a tare in them. My only dark jeans are now ruined and my face probably looks worse. My knee is scratched and bleeding a little but didn't hurt that much compared to my face.

"Are you okay?" He bent down to check if nothing was broken.

"I'm fine." I simply stated sounding like a robot.

"Don't pull that shit on me." He tried to give me a hand to stand up, but I ignored his nice gesture and kept sitting on my bum.

"You have grass in your hair." I can tell he was trying to lighten up the mood so I tried playing along.

"Is that so?" I took I pause and forgot to ask what his name was.

"Um what's your name?"

"Niall, Niall Horan."
