The girl
In that hospital bed
Was unresponsive
She mine as well have been dead
I loved that girl with all my heart
Her being taken away
Would've torn me apart
She came back though
Back to reality
Back to a broken family
Back to her life
Back to me
While in the waiting room
I had time to reflect
She should've been treated better
Treated with respect
Her mama
Didn't care
It was her fault
And to take responsibility
She wouldn't even dare
In that waiting room
There were patients yelling
It was loud
I tried to keep my brother and sister safe
Because there was an old man
That just stared at us
And did not even utter a sound
But the hospital
Treats patients
Like experiments
Drug after drug
Med after med
All while they just lay there
In their bed
That sweet
Innocent
Little girl
Should not have been there
Her dad would've treated her better
Treated her
With care
She is better now
I love that little girl
I love her so much
I remember
When she first entered my world
She was a baby
I was still big
They told me not to hold her
They said I could break her
Like a twig
But now
She's tough
And when she was almost taken away
She fought back
She is a diamond in the rough
I love that little girl
With all my heart
I'm glad she's here
Now I'm not torn apart
I love that little girl
In that hospital bed
