Nick's POV:
I was in my car driving to Ashlie's house to pick her up. She asked if we could go to the movies together and I was secretly hoping it was one of those situations where the girl uses a subtle invite as a date. I knocked on her door. No answer. I pulled out the spare key that she gave me when she went on vacation and opened the door. I walked around the house. The kitchen, dining room, living room, her bedroom. All empty.
"Ash?" I called.
"Here." I heard a quiet voice reply.
I walked into her recording studio and saw her practically passing out at her desk. Her head continually falling and bobbing, a video halfway edited. I saved her editing progress with a quick click and picked her up bridal style, carrying her to the couch. I sat on her couch and put her head in my lap.
"Nick?" She questioned.
"It's okay, Ash. You obviously need a nap more than a movie. I'll be right here when you wake up." She sat up and snuggled into my side. I stroked her soft hair. Soon after I heard her breathing level. I kissed her temple and fell asleep right beside her.
