Chapter 5 - "The Beginning of the End"

Prologue

The day ended up quickly.

And again, the spring has come. The air felt refreshing as the new breeze of air.

"Haghh..." a sigh of mine.

A breeze passed by.

Day, Jan 1.

I can't sleep. My face is somewhat tired enough that even my facial expressions are vague. However, the New Year festival ended up quickly. Grains and powders from the fireworks are pouring down like a rain after the fireworks a while ago.

"Can't sleep." as my mind is full of shock.

"Yoshino.." as my cracking mouth said some words as I get up from the bed.

Yoshino slapped me back then. I wonder what happened and what she's up to. I'm completely clueless. And also, I'm both physically and mentally weak.

What just happened back then..

Haruka, the girl who completely showed up that night. The one who’s a friend of mine back then. And thing is that, "leave you". What is the meaning of that back then?

Thoughts and stuffs are starting to pop out in my head. I can't remember what my pasts are. And also, what my past looks like.

I wonder if I'll be able to go out.

Then suddenly————.

"?!?!-." a falling sound can now be loudly heard. And it somewhat hurts.

"Aghh." as I said those words as my body fall out off the bed.

"I'll just get up.." as I lazily stood up.

The living room is quiet. There isn't a presence of sound. Not even a single sound wave passes through my eardrums. It’s somewhat like 0 decibels can now be loudly heard.

So, I began to lazily head to the sofa. Wearing my long white shirt and long cotton jeans, makes myself comfortable for the weather.

"?!?!-." as the sound of clicking began to cover the whole living room.

Then, suddenly, in the midst of time, something instantly caught my attention. It is a news channel, where a media reports something and——-.

"It's been a year since the blunt pandemic happened." those words got my attention in a sudden.

"Every day, approximately 20-30 persons per day have gone to coma. The whole world suffers this kind of pandemic. Even though it's coma, it is a strange one." as the reporter said those words on the TV.

Then, the reporter interviewed some doctors after that.

"That was a strange one, we here, don't know what's happening to the world now. Every day, as the days passed by, this hospital will be completely filled with patients who’re suffering a deep coma."

"I see doctor, then, is there any signs of them coming back or waking up?"

"As for now, we haven't had any issues as for today from this year. There weren’t any patients who awakened who're suffering this strange coma."

"It's so strange, right, doctor??"

"Yea, it's so strange that most of our specialist in Japan, and even in the Western countries have no clue to this strange pandemic."

"But as for now, there were no patients who made their heartbeats a goner."

"Ah, I see doctor. And——-." as I quickly turned off the TV.
