Chaos at hogwarts

Chapter 4-the sorting hat

Maddie's POV

I look up and there's hogwarts. It's huge!! I look up at Fred, George, and lee and they grin down at me and lee puts his arm around me. We walk to a carriage and get in. We get up to the castle and we get out. I have to go with all the ickle first years so I say,"bye, see ya guys later." I go with all the first years and my god, most of them are midgets! Besides Harry, Draco, blaise, teddy, and pansy of course. I look around and they all have scared faces looking up at me. I say,"what the hell are you midgets looking at?" They stare up at me cuz I "swore" and look away. I grin evilly. This is gonna be a great year to terrorize the first years! Draco walks up to me, and says,"your a potty mouth." I laugh and reply with,"little kids think crap is a swear." He stares down at me(yes down) and yells,"YOU POTTY MOUTH!!!" I say,"whatever, you love me anyways." He goes,"yeah I do." Then mcgonagall comes in and says,"it's time to be sorted.

We walk In and all the midgets are freaking out. Mcgonagall sets an old stool down and an even older hat onto the stool. The hat bursts out into song

Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can top them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave at heart,

Their daring, nerve and chivalry

Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuffs are true

And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

If you've a steady mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folk use any means

To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

And don't get in a flap!

You're in safe hands (though I have none)

For I'm a Thinking Cap!

And then everyone applauded. Then mcgonagall proceeded to say,"there's 3 transfers this year and that Maddie gaunt, Kyle Williams, and issaic boychild. You will be sorted first. Now every one of you will walk up here and place the hat on your head."Gaunt,Maddie." I walk up there sit in the stool ad place the hat on my head. I about screamed when it started talking in my ear. It said,"hmmm your smart but you don't use that for school. So your not in ravenclaw. Your a Loyal person but your not patient like a hufflepuff. Your cunning like a slytherin but alas I also see bravery in which that is gryffindor. Hard decision, hard indeed. But your a gaunt? Hmmm that should automatically put you in slytherin. But a very hard decision. I think I'll put you in GRYFFINDOR." He yelled the last part and the gryffindor table burst into applause. Lee, George, and Fred were especially happy. I sat next to lee and of course, being the flirt he is, puts his arm around me. But I was dumbfounded. I always thought that I would be put in slytherin. I never guessed in my whole life that I would be put In Gryffindor. I'll have to send an owl to Lucius and Narcissa. But for now be happy and to my luck Kyle and issaic get put Into gryffindor with me. I found out that their in third year too. Just great. So the sorting finishes. Draco, pansy, Blaise, and teddy get put into slytherin. Harry and Ron get put into gryffindor. So after everyone's sorted dumbledore gave his speech and then we ate. Everything was delicious! And then the dessert. It made all of it better. I hope that there's dessert at every meal! I kinda miss beaxubatons food though. But anyways so we almost finish eating and dracos waving his hand for me to go to he slytherin table so I do. Everybody in the halal looks astonished at me that I'm in gryffindor and I'm going over to the slytherin table. I go up to draco, pansy, teddy, and blaise. I say,"hey guys." And draco responds,"why the hek are you in gryffindor?" I say,"i dont know, Im Just as confused as you. But when dad comes back he won't be pleased to hear this." Draco goes,"no he won't. Will we still be able to see each other?" I cry,"are you kidding me? Being In two different houses isn't going to tear any of us apart. Dint you guys ever think that! We've known each other since we've been little and we've grown up together. Nothing can tear us apart!" They say,"good we were talking about it and we hoped that what you would say." Then I say bye and hug all of them and go back to gryffindor table. Then as I sit back down, dumbledore gets up and says,"and now, before we go to bed, let us sing the school song! Everyone pick their favorite tunes and let's begin!"

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,

Teach us something, please,

Whether we be old and bald

Or young with scabby knees,

Our heads could do with filling

With some interesting stuff,

For now they're bare and full of air,

Dead flies and bits of fluff,

So teach us things worth knowing,

Bring back what we've forgot,

Just do your best, we'll do the rest,

And learn until our brains all rot."

Soon the Fred and George and I were the only ones singing to a low mournful funeral tune. After we finished the great hall applaluded and dumbledore said,"off to be now! You must get up early to get to classes!" So we all got up and followed Percy weasley to the Gryffindor common room. It was amazing!! So me and some other third year girls went up to our dormitories and fell asleep right away.
