The ship slowly arrived at the dock; rocking back and forth before it settled from the weight of the anchor that was shortly thrown overboard.

"Thank you for sailing with us! I hope that the waves didn't get ya too good!" The captain gave a hardy laugh as he chewed on his tobacco that was stored in his mouth. The man waved the passengers a goodbye as he entered back into his cabin. The crew then lowered the bridge and bowed as each passenger exited. Gon and Hisoka were the last ones to leave.

Hisoka placed a hand on his stomach and head as they were moving. He felt horrible. He was fine for the first few minutes on the boat until the waves started to put up a fight towards the end.

Gon looked up at the man who's body tilted every which way. Gon's eyes slowly widened and so did his smile."Don't tell me your sea sick?" Gon stopped walking while placing his hands behind his back.

Hisoka's feet came to a stop and he looked at the child. His nose crinkled and scoffed at the idea. "I wouldn't be vulnerable to something so mundane.~♢" The magician stated but then shortly after had placed a hand over his mouth as though he was going to vomit.

"Such a liar!" Gon laughed as he rubbed circles on Hisoka's back to ease his discomfort. "We'll be there soon so you can rest." he grinned.

They were nearing Gon's home and Gon ran up to the entrance and eagerly knocked on the door. Hisoka eventually got there and bordered his face with his hands and viewed the interior of Gon's home from the window. "No one is home.~♣" he stated as he looked over to the child.

"Oh." Gon said faintly dejected. "Ah, but I know where the spare key is." He said as he bent down and lifted up the welcome mat. The key was veiled in dust as he picked it up to shine in the sunlight. Gon lightly blew on it and placed the key in the lock. The door knob turned and the two were greeted with darkness. Gon went in first and Hisoka followed behind, fluidly closing the door on his way in.

"Where did they go?" Gon whispered more to himself than Hisoka while walking throughout the house. It was until he reached the kitchen he froze. Near the end of the kitchen table was a picture frame. It was a photo of Gon and what laid in front of it was his favorite dish.

An offering.

Gon staggered back in disbelief and drew in a breath in surprise as powerful hands suddenly took a hold of his shoulders from behind. The boy hastily tilted his head up and saw the magician who fixedly gazed at the table with an unreadable expression. As though he felt compelled to Gon hesitantly looked back at the table and a tear unknowingly escaped his eye.

"What?"

A/N: If you are confused by the ending there are cultures that still leave food for their deceased loved ones as though they never left. As well as to express their love for them, so Mito believes that Gon had already died.
