Baby Steps

Garroth's POV
I wake up to the sound of sizzling.

Is that still Laurance? Wait.... Did I fall asleep here? On the floor? Great....

I get up from the partly wooden and partly tiled floor and I walk out to the kitchen to find Zane making breakfast.

"Zane *yawn*, where's Laurance?" I ask and he shrugs.

"I really don't care Garroth. I heard he ran off after something that happened last night." he says and I start to panic. I instantly felt like my feet were ablaze as I ran to the garage and I look to find Laurance's car is gone.

Oh shoot....

I quickly run back inside and grab my keys. Im going to search everywhere until I find him. No matter what.

Laurance's POV
Its been 6 months since I left. Cookie has gotten so big. I waddle into the kitchen to find my mom making breakfast.

"Thanks mom. Im actually really hungry." I say. She smiles before she hands me a plate.

"No problem! Now I want you to still take it easy until you have Margot ok?" she says.

"I know you do mom." I say as I kiss her forehead. She smiles and shoos me off. I roll my eyes and waddle over to the living-room. The TV was on to tell me my father was up.

"Hey dad." I say as I sit down. He turns to me and smiles.

"Hey son. Im glad you and Margot decided to get up and spend the daylight hours with her grandpa." he says as he gestures toward my bump and I chuckle.

"You know that Margot causes me to sleep late sometimes right? I can't help it!" I say and playfully cross my arms. He chuckles.

"Even pregnant you didn't lose your humor." he says as he wraps his arm around my shoulder like he used to when I was a kid.

"So you decided on how you want to have Margot yet?" my mom says as she walks in.

"Yeah. Im going to do it naturally. Obviously with the meds because otherwise I would probably die." I suggest and my mom shrugs.

"Sounds reasonable. But have you talked with Garroth recently? You know he's been looking for you for the last six months for every single second he has. He misses you hon." my mom says as she starts to eat.

"Mom I... I don't know... Maybe ill have him come to Margot's birth and see what goes from there." I say as I look down.

What am I talking about? He literally kissed Kim in front of me. How am I supposed to let him be the father figure for Margot when he wasn't exactly the perfect figure for a boyfriend at that time either.

"That's a wise decision Laurance." my dad says. I nod.

"Hey dad?" I ask.

"Yes?"

"Hey Im going to go out to get some last minute baby clothes with Cadenza today alright?" I say. He nods.

"Just be careful ok?" he says.

"Of course dad." I say. I smile and get up. I fall back onto the couch with a thump.

"Hahaha!" I laugh as I get up again. I feel a kick soon after I chuckle. I rub the soft spot Margot had kicked and I say

"Yeah, we're going shopping with Auntie Cadenza today ok Margot?" I ask her as if she had a say. I feel her small hand smack against the outside of her enclosure as if to say yes. I chuckle. I walk over to the stairs and walk up. I hear a familiar ring from my phone.
