Hey, you don't know me but I'm Thompson Davis, and this is the story of how I met Clementine.
It was a Saturday afternoon 10 years ago, I was 15 at the time and she was 13. We lived in 2 different states, I in Texas and she in Louisiana. It's not that far I know but we still are in 2 different states, anyway.. I myself was and still am a Christian, she was not at the time. And on Saturday June 10, 2017, (this is in the future) my church had a "Summer FUN-ale" . (Now I know what you're thinking, "What the dump is a 'Summer FUN-ale'?!" well I'll tell you.. A "Summer FUN-ale" is 3 day event to end off the summer with games, fun, friends and Jesus.) My friend Chloe decided to bring a friend, Clementine.
I , as usual, got there late so I missed a little of the first day, but when I did get there I looked for Chloe right away because she's my friend, obviously. "Where is she?" I said to myself frustrated until I finally found her. "HEY THOMPSOOOONNN!!!" Chloe yelled across the yard. "Hey Chloe" I said as I noticed the person walking up behind her. "Who's she?" I asked Chloe. "Oh this is Clementine, she's a friend from school!" She said very happily and motioning towards the girl. Clementine had short curly hair, bright blue eyes and a short stature. I looked at the girl, " Hi Clementine, I'm Thompson, you probably already know that from Chloe yelling it at the top of her lungs" I said letting out a small laugh. She laughed along with me "Actually, I didn't know, I thought she was just yelling at you" Clementine said and we all laughed. "By the way, you can call me Clem if you want" Clementine said, "Can I? I thought about calling you that but I wasn't sure how you would feel about it" we both laughed. "Hey I'm gonna go talk with that group of people over there, do you want to come with me Clem?" Chloe asked. Clem agreed to go with her and they walked away.
"Dang, she's pretty" I said to myself as she waved goodbye.
