It was the second day of the "Summer FUN-ale" at my church. Surprisingly I wasn't late that day, probably because I wanted to see Clem again. "Hey Thompson" Clem said as she walked up to me. "Hey how's it goin?" I said to her. "I've been pretty good, Chloe couldn't come today because her dad wouldn't let her, but I'm here so that's cool" she said with a small laugh. "Oh well that's no fun, but hey, as long as you're here it should still be fun and we can get to know each other better!" I said a little too excitedly. Clem laughed "yeah I would love that." So we walked over to the stairs of the church and sat down and talked for what seemed like 5 minutes but actually 20 went by. I looked at my watch "oh my gosh it's already 12:20!" I said frantically. "Well dang we should probably go meet up with every one and see if we can still snag a hot dog or something for lunch" Clem said with a smile. "You right" I said and we both walked over to the rest of the group, grabbed some food and sat down to eat.
"Can I sit next to you guys?" My youth pastor, Momma Heather, said as she walked up. We both welcomed her to sit and she did. It was kind of awkward at first but then Momma Heather decided to say something, "So what's your name little lady?" Clem looked at her and said with a happy voice "I'm Clementine, but you can call me Clem" "Well it is very nice to meet you miss Clem, I'm Mrs. Heather" Momma Heather said with a smile. They both shook hands and got to talking, I just say there awkward, that happens a lot. Finally they got done talking and eating and so did I, Momma Heather went one way and Clem and I went the other towards the stairs again.
Clem and I talked the rest of the day. I ended up learning a lot about her and getting her snapchat and number! How lucky am I? After the day was over we talked on the phone all night till we both fell asleep.
*time skip to a few weeks after the last day of the "Summer FUN-ale"*
Me and Clem have been talking a lot ever since the "Summer FUN-ale" and by this point I think... I'm starting to like her.
