"What?! You mean theres more stinky children running around in this town?" A tall, skinny figure paced around in his lair.
"I've got to put a stop to this, or before I know it, she'll be active and healthy too."
He peered through the periscope and watched the spectacle in horror and disgust. His eavesdropping speakers told him everything he needed to know. He watched Fortissimo play catch with the other children.
"Yech! Vermin!" He said aloud in disgust. He went to sit in his orange, fluffy chair, and he thought of a scheme to get rid of Fortissimo. He turned the TV on and watched a cartoon about a cat chasing the mouse. Suddenly, the light bulb went off.
Meanwhile, the kids and Fortissimo were playing various games. An older man wearing a yellow suit greeted them
"Hi, Uncle Milford." Stephanie said.
"Oh hello Stephanie, it sure is a lovely day to be out in the sunshine." He said.
Fortissimo looked up at him, and he looked down at her.
"And who might this be?" He asked.
"This is Fortissimo, but you can call her Forte." Stephanie replied.
"Hello, Forte. I'm Mayor Meanswell, and welcome to Lazy Town." He said.
"Stephanie is your niece?" Fortissimo asked.
"Why yes she is, she really is a charming girl." He said.
"I agree." Fortissimo said with a smile.
Mayor Meanswell also too came to the realization that Fortissimo is a mouse.
"You seem to be a mouse." He said.
"I am a mouse." She said.
"Miss Busybody isn't going to like this. She has a phobia of mice." Mayor Meanswell said as he looked back to Miss Busybody who was laying in her lounge chair and wearing a cucumber mask.
"Don't worry, Mayor." Pixel said.
"I've got a location device on my computer that can tell us where Miss Busybody is, so we can keep Forte away from her and avoid trouble."
"Splendid, Pixel! You really are smart." Mayor Meanswell said joyfully.
Stingy was driving through town in his little yellow car. It caught Fortissimo's eye because she had not seen any cars yet in this town besides his. She went to get a closer look and she followed it. Stingy hit the brakes.
"What are you doing." He said unamused.
"Uh, nothing. Just looking." She said shyly.
Stingy stared in an unamused manner until he finally turned his head and continued driving. Fortissimo wanted to get him to talk to her in a friendly instance for once.
The sun began to go down, and Fortissimo had nowhere to go. She was very tired from the walking and then all the playing she had done. Ziggy and Pixel had already gone home and all that was left was Stephanie, Fortissimo, Trixie, and Stingy. Fortissimo felt anxious about asking them if she could stay with one of them for the night.
"Uh, I d-don't have a-any place to stay.." She stuttered.
Immediately, Stingy spoke up, "No way is she going to my house. She'll touch everything and shed all over the place."
"She can stay with me for tonight." Stephanie said.
The friends said good night to one another, and Fortissimo followed Stephanie to her house. Fortissimo had been to a sleepover once before at Cantabile's sleepover birthday party, but she had never gone to one that was just a sleepover. Her legs ached, her paws were sore, and her mind was numbed. Stephanie went inside and Fortissimo followed.
"Do you have anything to eat?" Fortissimo asked.
Stephanie gave an apple to Fortissimo, "We have sports candy." She said.
"Thanks." Fortissimo said.
Fortissimo then ran to the nearest corner. Stephanie looked at her in a confused manner, and she walked ovet to her. Fortissimo was working away at the apple in small, rapid, mouse nibbles. She then froze.
"Sorry, my natural instincts don't come out unless I'm tired." Fortissimo said in embarrassment.
"I guess that's why you're walking on all fours." Stephanie giggled.
Fortissimo swiftly stood up on her two legs. She followed Stephanie until they reached her bedroom.
"I think there's a sleeping bag in here somewhere." Stephanie said as she rummaged through some things. She pulled out a pink sleeping bag and layed it out on the floor.
"I don't have any pajamas." Fortissimo said.
"You can borrow one of mine." Stephanie said as she gave Fortissimo a pink night gown.
Fortissimo went into the bathroom and changed, and the night gown was way too big for her. She wore it anyway, she didn't want to seem ungrateful. Stephanie layed in bed, and Fortissimo layed in the sleeping bag.
"Good night." Stephanie said.
"Good night." Fortissimo said back.
Stephanie turned off the lights and turned over towards the wall. Fortissimo stared up at the ceiling, but it was too dark and blurry because she wasn't wearing her glasses. Fortissimo was horribly nearsighted and she became weak and defenseless without her glasses. She felt exhausted earlier, but now she could hardly fall asleep. She felt a tinge of homesickness. She clutched the pillow tight as her eyes began to fill with tears. She thought to herself how pathetic she was, and after a while of tears, she had fallen asleep.
