While Fortissimo was being lead by Ziggy, they began to hear an upbeat song. Fortissimo looked around until she saw that it was coming from a pink radio. Then she noticed that there was a perky pink-haired girl dancing about. She was very full of life, and a vivacious energy radiated from her.
"Hi, Ziggy," she said as she switched off the radio.
"Hi Stephanie," Ziggy replied.
"Who is that there?" Stephanie inquired.
"Oh, this is Fortiss... Forts... Fortissim..." Ziggy struggled through the pronunciation of her name.
"I'm Fortissimo," Fortissimo said as she stood forward towards Stephanie. Stephanie was significantly taller than her, and she looked like a giant in Fortissimo's eyes.
"I'm Stephanie," Stephanie said, her eyes were twinkling, and she was grinning ear to ear. Fortissimo couldn't help but to smile as well.
"Has she met everyone else?" Stephanie asked Ziggy.
"We were actually going to meet them right now." replied Ziggy.
"You can come with us." Ziggy said.
Stephanie agreed and once again they were walking together.
"I think the other kids are at Pixel's house." Stephanie said.
"Pixel?" Fortissimo thought to herself,
"Everyone in this town has such an odd name except for Stephanie, but then again, I'm one to talk."
They approached a blue house with a large satellite dish on it. Stephanie just opened the door as if it were nothing. In Fortissimo's town, if a person's door was unlocked, someone would just break in or kill someone.
"Come on." Stephanie said as she led the way.
Fortissimo looked around, there was complicated looking machinery and gadgets and gizmos galore. It was somewhat dim, but not dark enough that a light would be necessary. The sound of video games could be heard, it was the typical bleeps and bloops of the 8-bit era of video games.
"Hi guys." Ziggy said.
A monotonous chorus of "Hi" came from the couch that was placed in front of the TV.
"You aren't gonna believe it! There's a new kid in town," Ziggy said excitedly, "And she's right here in this room!" He exclaimed joyously.
"Her name is Fortissimo." Ziggy said.
Fortissimo went to stand next to Ziggy at the side of the couch.
"That's Pixel." Ziggy said as he pointed to a dark skinned kid with red-orange hair and a technological headset.
"Hi." Pixel said. His voice sounded very quiet, and as if he has said it from a million miles away. He sounded as if he were in a deep trance.
"Pixel? Pixel snap out of it!" Ziggy cried.
Pixel continued to twiddle his thumbs away on the game controller and stare vacantly at the flashing screen.
"Pixel pay attention." Stephanie said.
Pixel jumped as if an electric shock pulsed through his body, and he immediately stopped playing the game. He did not even pause the game, which resulted in his character's death. He turned to look at Stephanie, and he seemed to gaze affectionately at her.
"I'm paying attention, honest." Pixel said.
Fortissimo giggled at the spectacle.
"Oh, there he goes again. Why don't you just marry her?" A voice from the couch said.
Pixel blushed, "Marry? Who said anything about marriage? I'm not getting married, not ever, not even in a thousand years." He sounded flustered.
Ziggy pointed to the voice who had made the remark.
"That's Trixie." He said.
Trixie turned her head and looked at Fortissimo
"Hey, what's up?" She said coolly.
Ziggy pointed to a child in a yellow vest, and a red bowtie.
"That's Stingy." He said.
Stingy grabbed at the controller.
"When is it my turn?" he said, putting heavy emphasis on 'my'.
Trixie scowled, "Stingy you've had, like, a hundred trillion turns!"
"I did not!" He cried.
"Did too!" She cried.
Stephanie broke up the little fight between the both of them.
Stingy pointed his nose into the air, "Hmph, well I'll play my own video games at my house. They're better than these cheap ones." He said sounding like a spoiled child, and once again putting heavy emphasis on 'my'. He stormed out, pushing Fortissimo out of the way and with a force strong enough that she fell. Everyone called after Stingy angrily for knocking over their newly found friend, but he was already gone.
"Don't worry about him. He's just a big baby sometimes." Trixie said while she helped up Fortissimo.
"Uh, thanks." Fortissimo murmured shyly.
"Don't mention it." Trixie said.
"How are you at sports?" Stephanie asked Fortissimo.
"Me? I'm no good." Fortissimo said.
"Have you ever tried?" Stephanie said.
"Well, personally I just don't like sports. It's how I am."
"Well, we don't have to play strictly sports. We could make up our own games." Stephanie said.
"That sounds good." Fortissimo said in a more positive attitude.
Suddenly, it hit her.
"Wait, if this place is called "Lazy" Town, why are you playing sports? Is there some joke I'm not getting?"
Ziggy interjected, "We used to all be lazy until Stephanie came to town and she brought her love for physical activites. She also wrote a letter to Sportacus and he's a superhero, and I wanna be a superhero just like him, and--"
"Woah, wait." Fortissimo said, "Slow down, who is Sportacus?"
The kids gasped
"You don't know who Sportacus is?" Pixel said in a shocked voice.
"Well, no, I've never been here until just now." Fortissimo said.
"That makes sense." Trixie said.
"We can write a letter to him saying he should meet Fortissimo." Stephanie said.
Everyone agreed, and Stephanie got out a piece of paper and began to compose her letter.
"So how long will I have to wait to see him? I mean, letters take a while to mail." Fortissimo said.
"We don't use a mailman, we use a special device." Stephanie said as she was finishing up her letter.
"Come with us." Stephanie said to Fortissimo.
Fortissimo nodded and followed the others to the mailbox. Fortissimo noticed there was a pipe looking thing sticking out of the ground.
"You put your letter in one of these, and then you put it down this thing, and pull the lever." Stephanie said as she was demonstrating.
The letter in the smaller tube-like thing in which it was contained shot into the sky.
"Now we wait," Stephanie said, "Which won't take very long."
She was right, a minute later a man clad in a blue from head to foot was flipping and flying through the air.
"Hi, Sportacus!" The children called.
"Hello, kids!" He replied.
"Sportacus, Sportacus," Ziggy said excitedly, "Have you seen our new friend?"
"No, I have not." Sportacus said, "Where are they?"
Everyone moved out of the way so Fortissimo could be visible. She was short compared to everyone else, she was about as tall as Ziggy, who looked to be five.
"I'm Sportacus." He said in introduction. He held out his hand in a handshake.
"I'm Fortissimo." She replied, and she shook hands with him, except on her end it was paws.
"So, they say you're a superhero?" Fortissimo inquired.
"I would say I'm a slightly above average hero." He answered.
Fortissimo thought to herself, "At least he's humble unlike some other superheroes."
"Fortissimo, do you have any nicknames? Your name is kind of a mouthfull." Ziggy said.
"Well, my closest friends call me "Forte" which means the same as my full name." She answered.
"Welcome to Lazy Town, Forte." Sportacus said.
"Thanks." She said meekly.
Fortissimo was happy, she had met new friends and even a slightly above average hero. Getting home was the least of her worries now. Somehow, for some reason, she could not shake off the feeling she was being watched. Little did she know, she was.
